Reading between the lines of that slop of an expose, I think the story was submitted to a publication that only publishes melanin blessed authors. A huwite chick, especially a South African one, would have been an immediate disqualification.

I read 'Destiny Delayed' from this guy a while back, and just could not help thinking the whole time that the only reason it had gotten printed was due to his demographic checkboxes. The ideas were ok at best, the story arc was flat and the prose was what you'd expect from someone whose first language wasn't English. (Though his command of English is better than my command of whatever he grew up speaking.)

I wonder if we'll see any authors take this opportunity to shit on his literary output. I suspect not, because they probably know that doing so will indirectly shit on the system that elevated him.

The SFWA Board and Elections Committee would like to announce the results of the 2024 special election. Thank you to all our members who took the time to vote.

Kate Ristau has been elected SFWA President and Steven D Brewer has been voted in as SFWA Secretary.

The newly elected officers and directors-at-large will serve on the SFWA Board from November 1st, 2024, through June 30th, 2025.

So a few weeks ago after the ooga cancelling an account called SFWALeaks registered on bluesky.

Within MINUTES the account was receiving DM's from histrionic trannies and SFWA ass lickers demanding to know the identity, threatening legal action and accusing them of being Beaner Del Arroz or some sad puppy thing. (sad puppies was some group who tried to take over SFWA some time ago)
The account hadn't even posted anything yet (still hasn't either)
Over then next few hours it was blocked by several hundred accounts in some sort of organised block campaign propagated through their pedo circles.

You even had Scalzi piping up with a thinly disguised announcement that he would be keeping quiet and others should STFU and block the account.

Scalzi being their cash cow and who essentially props up all the other no selling mutants obviously still has a lot of clout despite not being the president anymore.
The mere mention that their could be 'leaks' made them lose their minds.
There is a load skeletons in that closet with fattys lolsuit funding being just one of them.

How long before some of the members actually start asking questions? It seems to be a small group of people who are benefitting from the use of all the SWFA funds

If I was a member of a professional organization that recently had a scandal akin to Organiccheesewhey's, I would immediately assume any kind of Whatever Leaks outlet popping up was simply attempting to ride the coattails of that uproar and shrug. I think we've had Jon del Arroz pop up here from time to time.

I'm interested in seeing more funny stuff happen. Almost all the really good mainstream classic SF authors have died. Even the old school hacks are gone too. Like, who's even alive anymore. Spinrad, Silverberg, Card, Bujold, Niven? They're all 70+ years old. Weber and Ringo too. Fucking hell, Piers Anthony is still kicking around.

I just want to catch up and read all the good shit but it's sad hearing that we just don't have the volume of fun writers any more.
