Hmm, this map looks like it has a bit more coverage than that train map.

And it's hilarious they think their HSR won't have security. Sure it's less than TSA but even the Brightline rail line in Florida has security.

/r/fuckcars user is mad that no one wants to take transit in the pouring snow:
Have you noticed that every time, it is never the transit system's fault?

"Hmm," they say, "people prefer to take cars instead of the train. Let's punish them," they think, instead of wondering why they drive it. Maybe the train doesn't go to the places where they live, especially seeing how housing prices push people outside of the city. Maybe the train is becoming unsafe and full of unsavory people who weren't there 10-15 years ago. (Speaking of fifteen years ago Google Maps confirms that as of 2009 there were two lanes in each direction.

Of course, diaper fetishists are offended:

Ahahahahaha of course /r/fuckcars is a hotbed of degeneracy

Yeah, and as I mentioned before, Amtrak, at least has almost as many banned items as TSA does and has of course "discretionary" bans which means that if they don't like your item, too bad.

Note that the Redditors have no idea of what the benefits/disadvantages of trains and cars really are. For driving, there's the huge benefit of UNLIMITED LUGGAGE as long as it can fit in your call and isn't illegal. So unless you were packing the back with the latest addition to the rape dungeon back home and/or a hundred kilos of uncut cocaine, everything is legal—sharp items, bulky items, pressurized gas, dumbbells (prohibited in Amtrak, even on checked), perishable foods, and so forth. The food, is of course, another issue. The thing about driving is you can get food wherever and whatever you want. With cars, you can stop just about anywhere. You can get burgers at idly snack on fries while driving at 70 mph but you can also go to restaurants not far from the freeway, and dine on regional cuisine, or just better food. That was my favorite part of traveling last summer on the road. Of course there was McDonald's, but there was also fried catfish and vegetables, pork chops and salad, and if I had so desired, I could've had a hot pizza delivered to my table.

Meanwhile, trains have overpriced, reheated slop from an extremely limited menu. They're also extremely slow (the longer they are, the less advantages they have against driving), extremely expensive, and that idiot talking about Wi-fi has clearly never traveled on a train because Amtrak at least has Wi-fi but it's sucky.

To ensure there is enough bandwidth for all of our onboard users, this free amenity supports general web browsing activities only. Our WiFi does not support high-bandwidth actions such as streaming music, streaming video or downloading large files.
The explosion of the Internet and the use of WiFi have created incredible demands for connectivity. To maximize the amount of onboard bandwidth available to all passengers, access to streaming media and large files sizes will be limited. To prepare for this restriction, we recommend passengers download any necessary large files prior to boarding the train. In addition, this network restricts access to web sites with objectionable content. If you think a web site has been incorrectly blocked, or have general comments about the service, contact us.

they always use this strawman. What if all of them need to go on widely different places? "Oh but you can easily take this bus, then another, then this tram, this train and presto, after 5 commutes, you've arrived. why would you take a car for a 15 minutes ride when you can spend about 45 on public transports with pahjeets molesting you?"

I like how they think that trains don't get in traffic jams. They absolutely do. Technical issues exist, especially on high speed rail, and as soon as the tracks have to be shared between high speed and commuter rail, there will be delays.
Still, I'd kinda like to do a transcontinental train ride through the US. Go from coast to coast, spend some days or so at specific stops. Either overnight trains so you get to spend more waking time at the stops, or trains during the day so you can see the landscape.

Biker stops for a bike checkpoint in NYC, comments are picking on him for doing so

When most bikers completely ignore everything going around them thinking their bike lane is their sacred ground this isnt a crazy thing.
Imagine committing a misdemeanor (or even a felony) of eluding/evading a L.E.O because tiktok comments told you so

Reminds me of this video posted a few months back of some druggie cyclist in Florida who apparently took the advice of Reddit and started brandishing his gun at motorists who were minding their own business. The fun part is that said motorists were police officers in an unmarked police car, who then proceed to kick his shit in.

and when a train breaks down, or is held up at a station due to police incident or medical emergency, the line is blocked completely
if it happens on a major line, this will cause a domino effect across the whole network which lasts the entire day

Someone calmly suggests that ditching the gay/troon flag in the /r/fuckcars logo would help spread urbanism:

Nothing warms my heart than watching moonbats slowly realize that degeneracy acceptance movements are destroying leftism from within.

Old school commies weren't exactly wrong about the gays or trans.

in the comments: "people" who leave their carts in the parking lot

SEPTA, Philadelphia's transit system, is going bankrupt and the governor of Pennsylvania just (illegally) diverted over a hundred million dollars of federal highway money (funded by the gas tax) to bail them out:

Remember, these people constantly (incorrectly) complain about the cities subsidizing the suburbs yet they celebrate federal gas taxes and statewide sales taxes being spent on a single city's local transit system.

We warned them 15 - 20 years ago that intersectional cultural leftism was a bad idea.

But they told us "Slippery slopes aren't real" and "It's CURRENT YEAR, have some compassion" and forged ahead anyway.

I love how cyclists are all "don't tread on me pigs", until they get nudged by a car, then it's all "help me police". Rat bastards.

The danger of not denouncing certain people in your group and accepting everyone is this

Someone calmly suggests that ditching the gay/troon flag in the /r/fuckcars logo would help spread urbanism:
The funny thing is I bet that day they drove away someone who supported urbanism, but they just had to drag this person for questioning. Truly the greatest enemy to the urbanism movement are the people who are part of it. Engaging with them for more than 15 minutes will drive anyone who isn't already part of their cult away.

How dare people prioritize their comfort to not get frostbite or deal with mentally insane hobos on a bus.

Mountains and terrain aren't real either.
The cost to setup HSR across the US would be astronomical.

If they didnt have double standards they wouldnt have any standards.

Also like the tidbit saying diverting $150 million dollars in funding wont have any impact in "going projects". The fuck they have this 150 million laying around for then? Or the complete lie by omission that it isnt going to be impacting an upcoming project.

Since OP asked for people working in "high paying jobs", the basement-dwelling majority of the subreddit's subscribers didn't comment. Still, there isn't a single non-white collar job listed in the entire thread. OP himself is a janitor who has to drive to work; do the retard office workers telling him to learn to code not realize that someone has to come and clean their buildings and they can't afford to live near the business district (or they want to live in a house) and transit doesn't run/is slow when they need to commute?
