Having played TF2 throughout the entirety of my teens, during it's absolute peak, it's draining to see what the TF2 community has become.
The only positive I have to say is there are still plenty of "old players" who just don't care and are more than happy to chud everything up. I remember furries being annoying, but who could have guessed (at the time) it would have been trannies who destroyed the community?

Edit: TF2bers. They fucked up the community in ways trannies couldn't possibly hope to achieve.

The artstyle debate is so stupid and i hate how this is one of the main discourses around tf2 now.
The tf2 artstyle is based on norman rockwell paintings and other Americana of the time. The artstyle isnt cosmetics never evolving past what we got during the first few years.

Should there be a restraint on shit that breaks the overall feel of the game like the cat pyjamas or the medic hairy chest? Yeah probably but if you took every hat ever added to tf2 i feel like the ones people call "artstyle breaking" are a very small minority compared to the ones that fit the artstyle.

I would also argue that the artstyle was fucked the second paint got added to the game because nothing ruins the artstyle of tf2 more than seeing hot pink or neon green in a loadout since both of those colors are not used in tf2 besides paint

Tf2 is designed around dark colors so anything thats bright sticks out like a sore thumb.

Also to the people giving me disagree reactions please prove me wrong, show me that a majority of cosmetics actually break the artstyle and not like 15 total that people bitch about until the end of time.

I completely get you, I was a very active player between 2013-2015 (the last hurrah of TF2 before the decline) and I remember always playing on community servers mainly due to the sheer creativity and fun of the maps like Mario kart and the multiple achievement maps, but nowadays that's completely lost due to many of them becoming unsupported by the few clients that host servers, now being replaced by 24/7 2fort or hightower with very strict rules that even block sprays.
