WHY DOESN’T THIS APP SUPPORT HIGH DPI DISPLAYS. WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE DEVELOPERS DON’T CARE? THE TEXT IS TOO SMALL. I CAN’T READ MY CUCK FANTASY EROTIC POEMS.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN MY GAMES ONLY RUN AT 15 FPS? I CAN’T AFFORD A BETTER VIDEO CARD.

Why yes I only use 1080p monitors in 2024. Why do you ask?

Imagine being unable to just plug your monitor in and have text be at a readable size LOL.

I bought the cheapest new video card on the market and can run games perfectly at 240 fps.

Admit it bros, 4K is gay.

I've got no idea what my monitors are I just know they display the things I need them to.

And tbh if you're playing videogames that require any type of modern equipment to play then you're probably playing the wrong games and are a homosexual. I think my video card is like 6 years old. There is nothing of value it cannot process.

I've never met anyone who gives a shit about 4k
your making this shit up
He exists as the soyjack pretending to be the chad. Let him have his dreams.

I doubt I can really tell the difference between 4K and 1080p.

So, I bought a 4k TV, and when you see the videos in that resolution, you can actually tell the difference from 1080p. The TV is also 43" wide and only like 1% of the videos are uploaded at 4k, but that's a minor issue

In terms of monitors, I think 1440p is the ultimate sweet spot, especially for gaming with a regular GPU. I've been on the 1440p 144+hz bandwagon for about 8 years and haven't had an issue. 4K makes more sense to me on a large TV than it ever would for a 24-27" monitor.

you can - depending on the screen size. there is a difference between 1080 pixels and 2160 pixels stretched over 60" or something.
in turn the smaller you get the less noticeable it becomes, especially these days when even running non-4k requires all kinds of shit like DLSS and fake frames that smear vaseline all over the visual fidelity (there is an argument to be made that on a 27" 4k will lead to less aliasing, but then again TAA is pretty much standard for other reasons anyway). unless you're a tech-tuber comparing zoomed in sections of the screen every minute for clickbait, you won't even notice in practice.

so unless you're planning to put a 40+ inch tv screen on your desktop, there isn't really much to worry about. higher refresh rate has a bigger effect than resolution.

because of streaming bitrate, you're better off with HD anyways, so 4k is a waste of time. cost for a 4k monitor over 60hz has only very recently become affordable and still isn't worth it overall.

the distance also makes it hard to justify. unless you're literally using an apple vision pro, in which case 4k is like the minimum.
