It is genuinely impressive how Trump manages to wrangle various factions/people into accomplishing things. He is quite competent, which is more than most of the rest of the oligarchy can say. Somehow both Orthodox Jews and west-invading Muslims supported him. Union workers and deregulationists. Ron Paul end-the-feds, crypto-bros, and Wall Street bankers. Pro-life and pro-choice (the Melania book was a savy move, along with the States-rights position). He's bragged about operation warp speed and courted an "anti-vax" democrat from the Kennedy family that spent his life fighting the exact people who implemented operation warp speed. Promotes building up the military, drops the largest bombs, assassinates enemy generals, and also is noninterventionalist who is appointin Tulsi Gabbard. It is said Bill Clinton did triangulation polls on every decision. Trump has Olympic-level talent at triangulation; it appears effortless.

While I think that he's incredibly talented and no one would able to be pull off what he did with so much finesse and skill, I would say that it is as equally explainable by the way the country is right now as it is by his own dynamic personality. If the country at large wasn't tired of how things are now to the point it is, basically at the point of open crisis on so many levels, then his dynamic personality would not have carried him into a non-consecutive second term. The diverse coalition he's built is an indictment against the system, the status quo, and the state of America and the Empire at large than anything to do with him, with the Republicans, or with any political organization for that matter.

After Trump is gone I wonder what the "neo world order" will settle into being. The 80 year Strauss–Howe cycle is resetting now (WWII ended 80 years ago), and it is the Sir john Glubb 250 year Empire sunset. Will we continue to have a rent-seeking economy or will there be a Jacksonian death of the central bank. Will North America be a civic-nationalist economic zone. Maybe, a neo-feudal technocratic balkanization. God-emporer Barron Trump ushering in the Butlerian Jihad. We could get Kurzwell singularity and spend our time on TNG holodecks playing Centrifugal Bumble-puppy. "Endless opportunities for renewal!"

If he carries out his agenda, with what he's said, we probably put another 20-30 years in the gas tank before we have to come to terms with the state of how things are. If he doesn't, then the whole bottom will drop out. He was carried into office not (just) because the Democrats are insane, or (just) because inflation is bad, or (just) because trannies are everywhere, or (just) because illegals are streaming over the border like a 4th Century migratory horde, but by the "narrative" of bringing about vast changes and reforms to the system to fix what's going on. If he is unable to deliver, then a large swath of the country will probably lose faith in the political system at large. After that is anyone's guess. I doubt the Democrats will be able to rally anything serious, and the GOP is so rotten without Trump that they'll never amount to anything either.

A solace is that even if he doesn't deliver, Agenda 2030 has been shelved for America.

I don't know for certain what happened, but I read that she had recanted and apologized, and even explained she want to get attention on her case, but that trump had only ever been nice to her. She was a very troubled lady, understandable so if any of the stuff was true about her being raped. Anytime I read much of it I just felt bad for her more than anything. But yeah, that was mostly the case they talk about. Other than just "TRUMP RAPED KIDS" being used to smear him.

No, @OverlySerious is right, the biggest threat from a nuclear exchange assuming you survive the initial fire ball is the resulting starvation because of the collapse of global food chains.

Most ionizing radiation from a “standard” thermonuclear weapon isn’t that long lasting, nor is it actually all that much comparatively speaking, the vast majority of bombs energy is in the form of thermal and kinetic energy.
This isn’t to say that that radiation isn’t dangerous, especially in the immediate aftermath of the explosion. It is, and it can be enough to kill you rather quickly. But that scenario is not at all the standard state of affairs, and even when you do see radiation levels that high, it actually will dissipate rather quickly.
As a matter of fact, a person who was outside the fireball’s range could shelter inside or underneath something like an office building and would avoid most of the severe radiation, and within a matter of days it would be safe enough for them to go outside and evacuate the area.

That being said, this is all only true for standard thermonuclear bombs. Both neutron bombs and so called dirty bombs would act as you describe because they’re designed primarily to emit massive amounts of ionizing radiation.
Note also that none of the above is true for nuclear meltdowns of power plants, because those don’t work in the same way a nuke does, and they produce a lot of radiation. Without going into the nitty gritty nuclear physics and engineering of it, this is why Chernobyl is still not safe and won’t be for a very long time, but Hiroshima is ok.

To tie this back into US politics, even though nukes wouldn’t irradiate the earth like in fallout, it’s still unwise for the DoD to be posturing like that, nuclear warfare would still utterly collapse society. Biden and his handlers need to stop playing stupid warhawk games in his last few months.

Speaking of H.G. Wells, one of my favorite works of his is The Sleeper Awakes. It was published in 1899 and is about some random person who fell asleep for 200 years. The main plot point of the story is that he became the center of the economy because businesses would just leave everything to the main character and then the trust in charge of his estate would remain in charge of the business. It's pretty predictive of modern life. Talks about how everyone lives in cities, big roads built of an undescribed black oil based substance, flying machines, etc. Spoiler, he wakes up and everyone is pissed off.

I think he wrote it when he was very young, might predate The Time Machine. Think it's pretty short too. Worth a read.
