TGWTG The Spoony One / Spoony / Noah Antwiler and Rachel Baker / @RaeAngel07 - The touching romance between a washed-up videogame reviewer throwing a decade-long pity party and his delusional Canuck stalker. #weaknotsick #donttellmehowtosulk

Spoony has rich parents and an enabler brother who will at least give him a dry bed to sleep on until his 60s at least. You'd rather sleep on the streets than that?

Why does "start somewhere" mean he has to return to YouTube? I think a better start would be getting a real job and his own health insurance.

I don't get how people have held out hope that Spoony would be the prodigal son of YouTube and return to his rightful throne of being 40+ years old and screaming about childish shit that is also 40+ years old? Is there really a shortage of fucked up losers on YouTube who would be dead if not for human benevolence? Do we need another?

How can you respect or even care about the opinions of a middle aged man who couldn't work a single shift on fries without shoving his head in the fryer?
I mean... if he does go get a real job somewhere, how would any of us notice? He might have one now and we wouldn't know unless he rants about it on social media.

I was just going off the assumption he was doing something that was visible to the thread. If we're going to allow things largely invisible to us, then he could be on medication, hitting the gym, and even going on dates with normal, stable women.

How boring and leaving nothing else to discuss.

If he did then I think he would be eventually noticed by someone who recognized him.
> Rando walks into MacDonald's.
> Spoony steps up to cash register.
"May I take your order?"
> Recognition sparks in the rando's eyes.
> He stumbles back, pointing a shaking finger.
> Spoony begins shaking his head.
> Eyes start to water as he begs Rando, no.
> The Rando's shout can be heard across three states.
"BETRAYAL!"

Doesn't Noah have a Computer Science degree? He could be doing freelance programming or website development under a different username which would allow him some anonymity.
He hasn't done shit in that industry in damn near 20 years now, except for occasionally trying to call crap out on twitter a couple times and getting shot down by people for not knowing wtf he's talking about. Had he used his degree to start a career when he got it, that would make sense. If he had been doing freelance work under another name this entire time, he wouldn't have had his house in Illinois foreclosed on and need to move back in with his brother back in Arizona.

Yes he could decide to go back to studying, get up to speed, and start a career doing that. But considering we know his work ethic basically since he was in college, do you really think he's capable of that at this point? I'm not asking if a grown man in his 40s with a career gap spanning his entire adulthood is capable of that, I mean specifically Spoony.

I'd rather be homeless, thanks. It's not the work itself, but the clients you have to deal with.
Talk about customers who are now more unreasonable these days. Many people don't have the patience to handle a fat cunt who orders too many and then decides to change orders making the thing even more confusing. I can't blame you though. I'd hate to work in a place like this.

Not in this job market. Software dev jobs have decreased by 30% since 2020 and layoffs are rampant. If people with years of experience who can avoid sexually harassing their coworkers are having trouble finding work, Spoony doesn't stand a chance.

Fair point. I was more meaning that he could be doing some now rather than the whole time he was sperging about Xcom at cons and stuff.

I don't think he could keep a night shift job at walmart a secret, let alone having kickstarted an entire web dev career without saying something to give it away at some point. Especially when as mentioned, layoffs for that stuff are at an all time high so you've got an absolute glut of people in the market to take up freelance work who could also show proper portfolios, and that's before looking into hiring someone from India, eastern Europe, etc for dirt cheap. If it were someone other than spoony, sure it'd absolutely be possible to try.

I don't think he could keep a night shift job at Walmart at all. He's never actually worked a job in his life. The first time someone made him, he bailed immediately. He's full of unearned ego, Dunning-Krueger and oppositional defiance disorder.

A lot of people have floated different culprits for Spoony's brain breaking but I think it happened because he finally left the nest and got a real life with real life responsibility like a mortgage and expectations of producing regular results in exchange for regular money and it spooked him out and he quit on adult life. He couldn't handle having people dependent on him to provide when they only real thing he ever wanted in life was to be dependent on someone else from the womb to the tomb. That's why he sat around Trump-sperging while adults took his home away and sent him back to live with his family again. That was the plan all along to prove that he could never take care of himself in the real world and has to live in a toy box provided to him by others. His retirement plan is to die just before the last person who can feed and house him does.

You might say that he could have achieved live in a fantasy forever by making videos about games and such but that would still require to make adult decisions and be responsible and he simply refused to do that. He was faced with foreclosure and sat there like Dante in Clerks, staring at a closed toilet, crying and pissing his pants because no one would open the seat for him.

Spoony was never going to succeed in any way because he's too much of a coward to deal with life. No matter what happened in his life, he was going to be exactly where he is now. Living off someone else because it requires zero effort. He's just one of the worst kind of guys.

he got his computer science degree in the early 2000's. its wayyy out of date
Computer science degrees have a bit of a lifespan, but not as much as one might think. The basic logic to it hasn't changed.

The ability to learn and acquire the degree is what makes them valuable, not so much the content. Degrees don't really teach you how to work unless it's the worst of it all, group projects.

If he went back (yeah right) and got something like a project management cert he could probably get a real job and use his degree on his resume.

GPA and date of degree fall off as factors when you're over 30. Just how it is. I don't think he was going into development ever anyway.

Hint: Most development jobs are going away, fast. Project management is where you want to be. Be in control of the AI zombies under you in your career.

There's a reason for that, and it isn't "just because". People who get a degree in their 20s, get a job with it, and start a career gain experience. That experience becomes far more important as you build a career and that's where you actually build your resume. Especially once you start hitting 40 and even 50 if you can show a positive career no one is going to give a shit about your schooling in most fields unless you've actually hit a position with some prestige and the place you're working at can kinda brag about it in a way, but even that's only going to apply to something from a prestigious school. Spoony isn't in a position for any of that. Like I said, he's got a damn near 2 decade gap in his work history to try and explain away unless he goes full delusional idiot and thinks his spoony experiment crap would be worth something in the content creation field somehow(but even that would be back-end work, not as a face in front of a camera).

He's too famous to fake a resume, that's his real problem. Everyone fucking fakes their resume. Experience and all that is basically hearsay in the end. They can't call your priors and demand how you did. It's all a joke.

This is futile on the topic of Spoony, because he actively doesn't want a job. I believe that at least. He could at this point probably get a few certs, put his degree down, and get something midlevel in his area. He could also do Spoon comeback of 2024 and make videos and triple his patreon and get ads and probably make about the same for awhile.

It's not his degree or age or not being in the market that's the problem at all. It's just he's spoony, too good for anything more than taco bell job or less than getting a Del Toro acting spot.

Marzgurl, in comparison, has wayyy less chances on her own of having a job again even though I'm sure she wants to now.

Just to expand on this. Software dev is slowly getting outsourced to India, Vietnam and Hong Kong. Why pay the average College graduate from a US Public university 6 figures when a guy in Bangalore with 5 years of experience would do the job for 5x less?

Spoony is outdated and outclassed by even HS kids pursuing AP comp sci. Too bad he didn’t put his college degree to use during the 2000s to early 2010s. He would’ve been a millionaire by now but instead he’s a whiny seething leech on his sheriff brother
