I'm a bit late, but Bessent is the first cabinet pick I'm really not liking. He's as establishment and Jewish as they come and that is the most evil combination possible. I really hope this is some 4D chess thing where the short term side effects of the tariffs and layoffs will kneecap his entire career because otherwise we just made a deal with the devil here for no apparent reason. I'm afraid that Trump may have had to swear allegiance to the Jews to win this election because they knew Kamala would let them die (which would've been the only good thing she'd have done)

He didn't have the votes. 4 RINOs, including the cocaine turtle and the cocaine turtle's protégée, said they'd vote against him. Rather than let Trump take a L, he backed out and let Trump's second choice go forward.
Everything else is nonsense fluffery, mostly from the left who are trying a more stringent version of cancel culture on him in the hopes he'll kill himself, or at least be purged from society. He just didn't have the votes because of 4 RINOs and 0 Democrats that would have flipped to offset them.
The RINOs actually lost political capital doing this because it makes Trump's next pick look reasonable, and the Uniparty (left + RINOs) are already screaming bloody murder cause she's "worse than Gaetz" and it's harder to rape hoax a woman.

The poorly hidden secret is that Fox News is a jobs program for the GOP. People in public office always leave to a cushy gig where they can peddle their influence, but that used to be corporate boards, university Presidents, and so on. Fox just found a way to turn clout and name recognition into ratings. They also tend to hire "hosts" and "contributors" in more permanent positions than MSNBC or CNN do, who still pay off Democrat ex-officials but not as regularly, so the Dems can claim their main gig is freelance advocacy or whatever.
In a way it's a more honest grift. The corporations are trying to buy lobbying clout in Washington DC, and will deny any charge of corrupting influence. Fox is transparently trying to buy clicks and views.
The thing that stands out here is that the post-service gig is usually permanent. Normally you get associated with an Administration, and when out of power you leave and chase money. They don't usually go back into public service; though there are exceptions, like Donald Rumsfeld who was Secretary of Defense under Ford, then was CEO for a couple of companies, then came back as SecDef for George W Bush 24 years after leaving public office.

Obama's rise was facilitated by the parallel growth of social media and the new types of marketing it brought though. He was the first candidate to really have the benefit of youtube and facebook and etc, and he understood how to use that to reach hordes of previously out of touch voters.
Young people didn't really used to show up to vote, it was considered boring adult stuff. I remember 17-18 year olds being a lot more excited to vote for Obama than I remember college age people jumping for any other candidate in my life, and that's because his rise happened at a time where social media was really booming and there was nowhere near the amount of cynicism and fuckery around.
Call me optimistic but I don't think we will see another Obama style manufactured meteoric rise for a while, which I'm sure Barack is fine with since he has a huge ego, but that alignment of societal factors was a once in a generation thing.

I gotta tism hard a minute, "Become" implies a transformation or change yet to be and not how they have been for a while now, The dems have long been like this for two decades now at bare minimum and it pains me as a schlub who worked in it to say that the meteoric rise of the west's tech sector coinciding with Bush Jr being in office and a lot of the right being techno-tards at the time played a heavy part as he was their ultimate gift horse. The soft target and easy example for a near decade.
The big tech media and institutional power brokers capitalized hard and fast on the weak and clueless leadership and the state of the developing wild west internet having a at the time strong aversion to regs and censorship and the fact just about nobody under 40 actually liked the current at the time right's tsk tsking censorous schoolmarms raising arms against newgrounds and bonsai kittens and the like while being absolutely clueless to the public perception, (IE: "A series of tubes") so the left took the opportunity and ran with it as far as they could.
Thus and so leftoids and once true believers basically ended up owning fucking EVERYTHING in the budding digital space that would become interwoven into our lives. They had the social fronts, they had the money handlers and payment processors, they had the online marketplaces and they owned the digital news outlets and email providers. The keys to the online kingdom as it were. But they were quiet about it... At first.
Leading to the rise of the terrible trio of F.A.G. (Facebook Amazon Google) and their orbiters of suddenly successfuls like mozilla. And when the marching orders were no doubt given after the easy fights were over that's when they started to switch flip and get more and more brazen in order to collectively become the new narrative death gripping secular schoolmarms themselves after a time, in order to secure their digital dynasties as they thought their guys would be in control of the internet and all digital frontiers, forever. I won't even get into the spergy detailes regarding the "Do it for free" force of weird twitter/tumblr/SA goons and the great reddit pod person awakening of 2012.
So after questions were being asked and challenges being faced after getting way too accustomed to the complete non-resistance by the old guard uniparty right. Strange bed fellows were made manifest and more apparent than ever before in the mega wealthy and team blue circles leading to the current circus we are in now, where the proles of the party of the people are diving in front of mega corps to take bullets for them. IE: "What? It's just a silly streaming service - You're just paranoid, chud. Haha no no silly - Bill Gates is such a nice guy! What anti-trust suits?".
Which IMO lead to the current democrat's complete and total abandonment from top to bottom of all past stances and promises and lip service to the broke, working class and good intentioned because why bother? They had won, completely and utterly. At least in their eyes. The arms race of wealth generation and complete narrative control was over. They didn't need to even pretend to care anymore. "Do no evil" was promptly taken off the plaque out front, and "Maybe you're just a waste of carbon killing our planet." slapped on the front page headlines.
Which is a big part of why I told them to fuck themselves for an election or two and got off the range. And it felt fucking amazing to see the giant stumble for once in years.
