My take on it is that the guy dressed up like Darth Maul and made the video diary and warned the police of his actions out of some inner ritual that he concocted where he became what he hated and thought by killing himself he could be redeemed by killing his own monster.

I wanted to make a joke but I remember the footage where he shoots himself. He had a sign of something with the phrase "the best part of me" or something along those lines. I guess his expectation was to paint the area with his brain, but the bullet was too low caliber to actually destroy his skull and that space was wasted.
It's just the part that stuck with me.

Me too. I don't watch a lot of "shock videos" but his death was a lot more disturbing compared to Dywer's. Probably because the bullet wasn't a high enough caliber.

Bjork shouldve gave him a crumb of pussy
That's the thing while Ricardo believed that he and Bjork were meant to be together and have a future, he in his own words stated that he has never seen Bjork in a sexual way and didn't want to do anything sexual with her. It's most likely that he had some sort of weird Madonna-Whore complex parasocial relationship with Bjork combined with erotomania. He probably seen Bjork as a "Madonna", somebody that embodies the concepts of purity and womanhood due to the way she presented herself in the media and music videos until this idea got shattered when it was revealed she dated a black man which made her into a "Whore" hence why he wanted to punish her for breaking this illusion he had of her.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case because the most infamous stalking case with these elements is the case of Robert John Bardo.

Seeing blood quickly leak and pool from Dwyer's nose while he looks ... well,  dead eyed personally affected me more than Ricardo's. Ricardo's doesn't really feel real. Maybe because there's no big gore explosion like McNutt and no reaction like Dwyer's but it was always underwhelming to me.

I think Ricardo falling off screen quick after it happens is why. Plus his camera wasn't as high def as McNutt's. McNutt's still bugs me and I feel so bad for him.

Any idea why they were released? In this day and age of Christchurch and The Trannyfesto, I don't think we see many officially sanctioned suicide tape releases like this.
That's a good question actually. There's really no reason all his footage should be available to the public. Modern day attacks like his usually involve evidence being locked up.

When they are in the custody of the police they are considered criminal evidence, after a certain period of time by law they must be released to the public. When they are in the custody of the police they are considered criminal evidence, after a certain period of time by law they must be released to the public.

Is it bad to say there's something insanely funny about how in the Lopez suicide tape not a single drop of blood gets on that portrait he had behind him titled "the best of me." That's like divine intervention to add a punchline to this whole thing.

Also the fact that Björk broke up with Goldie a few days before Ricardo's suicide. If only he knew about it earlier. All this circus could be avoided and he would be back to simping for her.
