I suspect it came about because the lolicons in that fandom were getting annoyed at the people who started playing the game because of all the porn featuring Asuna, Karin and Toki, around the time the game came out in the global market (which was, coincidentally shortly after they got their bunnygirl outfits). So what we're seeing here seems to be an insular community of lolicons thirsting over little girls in a Japanese-only gacha for about six months or so, getting a big spotlight pointed at them once the game came out in English and all the casual mobile game players showed up wanting to see what the game was about. So, anyone who wasn't part of their little club before the worldwide release or doesn't follow the tenets of the church of the holy "uoooh!", gets labeled as a "tourist".

It just so happens the BA fandom is now so heavily associated with lolicons in general that it's hard to tell who's who anymore.

That is likely what happened. It festered in its original servers first, then was unleashed on the world like a plague, with a lolicon culture already built in. Like a mother smoking crack while pregnant, it was doomed from the start.

The thread this post came from has drawn upskirts of 4 year olds being posted casually as "deterrent". This isn't anything new btw, it has been going on for years.

Note the image where one of them implies that drawings of naked children are cute and comfy, where as only "real" pictures of children are a problem. As if one wasn't a pipeline for the other.

I disagree, back when Cute and Funny was just getting off the ground, people found out what that was right quick and clamped down on it. Those that didn't, surprise surprise, didn't have much of a problem with lolicon in the first place. Now, I don't see this term being used anywhere other than in lolicon adjacent spaces.
