Painting with a broad brush to solely blame conservative boomer Christians for the rise of the modern American liberal seems like a simplification. Sure they are a factor but consider prominent figures of the time like Tipper Gore and Joe Lieberman who certainly weren't religious fundamentalists but they still lead efforts against music and video games respectively. There was also Christian video games and even a fantasy role-playing game which indicates that hate against such concepts among that particular group of faithful individuals in the United States wasn't universal.

The idea of younger generations being more liberal then the previous should be considered as in the 1980s and 1990s the then center of American pop culture was firmly in the hands of the left and so were many university campuses.
