There is something emotionally wrong with these people. They didn’t think their way into this situation, even if some of them are capable of verbose post-hoc rationalizations. If they didn’t think their way into this, why would they think themselves out of it? Unfortunately, they felt and coomed their way into this. And until the feels and the cooms run out, there is little chance for absolution.

I don't trust detransitioners, not a single one. Not even ones platformed by right wing circles, like Chloe Cole. Don't get me wrong, I wish them well. I hope Chloe Cole sues Kaiser into the ground, sorts out her emotional issues, and then goes and lives a quiet and peaceful life with her millions. But I have yet to see a detransitioner who has gone public with their story who didn't seem to be enjoying the attention of it, and attention-seeking is half of what got them into this mess. These are not people who have any wisdom or insight to share, other than to showcase how easily they (and in the case of minors, also their parents) were duped by randos on Tumblr and/or reddit and the medical establishment.

In my mind there's always the question too: do they actually get it, or are they just disillusioned because they found out the hard (and stupid) way that they can't magically change sex? It always seems like the latter to me, because fundamentally these people are still extremely naive and immature, and that doesn't magically go away just because they start saying the right things that get them brownie points from those on the our side of the issue. Again, none of this makes me wish them ill, I just have no interest in what they have to say and I think they'd be better served by exiting the spotlight and trying to live as peaceful a life as they can with whatever injury they have done to themselves.

Pretty sure we know all about that already, and mostly thanks to the work of non-detransitioners. Forgive me if I roll my eyes a little at people who make trans their entire identity, and then when that doesn't pan out, make being detrans their entire identity.

I have a measure of sympathy for those who were actually trooned out as children, like Chloe Cole and Keira Bell. They were quite literally sold a lie, and there is simply no way a child or a distressed teen can be expected to evaluate an idea based on its own merit or see things from another perspective. They don't have the life experience to do that, regardless of how "gifted" or precocious they seem. Children also implicitly trust adults, and if an idea has the backing of doctors, they'd be even less inclined to doubt the veracity of it.

Now, people who transitioned as adults, like Tulip Dude and Scott Newgent? I have absolutely zero sympathy for them. You made your bed, now go lie in it. The only reason they "spoke out" in the first place was because their "bottom surgeries" were unparalleled failures. Sour grapes, in other words.

When are they going to understand that even the best possible result of a phalloplasty is only ever going to be a limp roll of skin that looks like one, without any of its functioning? Do any of them even know that most phalloplasty results have little to no sensation on the 'shaft', and that they make peeing (something that would only take them a minute before) a long, drawn out process?

Looking up what COULD go wrong with a surgery is generally a good idea to prepare yourself for the worst while hoping for the best. But I think the reason they refuse to look at the bad (average) outcomes is because they wouldn't want to get the surgery if they saw what could happen. Because unlike knee surgery SRS isn't needed for quality of life so saying no to it comes a lot easier once you've seen women with blowholes, lamprey dicks and skin-dogears. They want to believe its gonna be great and reality is just an annoying little factor that can be written off as Kiwifarms bigotry.

It's rare but there actually are some, that have taken the time to actually research the truth of the horror of Troon SRS and come to the conclusion that it's better to just live with their natal parts that subject themselves to such futile butchery.

I think choosing not to get surgery is probably more common than getting it. A lot of troons still have the presence of mind to look down the barrel of getting this done and blink. They may get lesser SRS done like orchi, or high-road that FFS and voice training was more important anyway and girldicks are sooo valid. (if you're reading this: you know who you are.)

I know I’m a broken record at this point but how can anyone convince themself that this is living as their “authentic selves” the mangled up scars, the falling apart floppy oversized rot dog, whatever is going on with her skin etc. It kinda seems like she lost a lot of weight, she could have spent the money on some excess skin removal surgery and looked fine.

I think it's another dogear, if you look closely (don't) it looks like there is another incision coming from above the... balls... which might end there. Alternatively she mentions something annoying about where the drains came out while talking about the dogears but I feel like it's a bit of a weird spot for that.

First, that they blathered so much about Brangelina's 'non-binary child' that it's become accepted wisdom that Shiloh pooned out, even though she didn't. Second, that they were already making celebrity trans kids articles as early as 2014. People think of 2015 as the beginning of the Troon Era, because that's when Bruce Jenner trooned out and I Am Jazz premiered, but Jazz first appeared in a documentary about trans kids hosted by Barbara Walters in 2007.

The media has been trying to normalize this for decades.
