The Critical Drinker

They should have him as a guest player on Critical Role

Does anyone know what happened to his movie? I thought he said it was coming out for the channel in July then I heard nothing about it.

I still have an overall positive impression from the drinker. But I also think it's painfullly obvious gaming isn't his forte and he is just following the popular conensus among the anti woke crowd.

I don't even think he is being malicious, it's just that it's obvious his true passion is in films not in games.

Id say his film critique can also be wonky at times, like his takes on One Piece is eyebrow raising or him trying to defed LadyBallers which was just cringe shit.

I think my main critique of his film opinions is that he seems to only know and love the 90's action movie mold. As much as I dislike woke, macho action movies aren't the only thing that opposes the message or the only type of quality entertainment that can exist.

For example, girl bosses, by today's standards, are only obnoxious because they are written to spite men, so they are written as ugly and nagging as possible. But that doesn't mean women can't kick ass in movies. But in his narrow view, women can be powerful because it's not "realistic." This is a narrow point of view because movies are fiction anyway. Say nobody complained about Wonder Woman being more powerful than all the other men in her solo movies.

I would also point out pre-woke Pixar as examples of great enterteinment sources that weren't related to Rambo style heroes at all.

Yap, hell going back to One Piece, he said how the male characters are allowed to be shown as men, they arent talked down or have women be better or smarter than them. Totally ignoring how Nami in several cased would brow beat or outsmart these guys before finally joining Luffys crew. But then again, he assumed how Cowboy Bebop was like One Piece and the Netflix series tried to make it "grounded and realistic"

Say what you want about the drinker's opinions, at least he's not anything near the raging talking head just for the shit of being a raging talking head, like most of the orbiters in the right wing yt community and he actually has skin in creating something, even though it'll probably be pretty shit.
Have to respect that.

Lets be honest, much as Drinker tried to shit on Chris Stuckman. We know this guy also wants to rub elbows with big Hollywood studios and get in those doors, an he hopes his action movie will be that ticket.

I mean, with a movie that looks like something you'd find in a bargain bin? I'd say MovieBob has higher chances with his CareBears script.
Got to start somewhere.
Maybe HW will reload after Disney implodes on its fat ass and something more conservative will have a chance to shine and make some real money.

What happened in the Penguin that is progressive?
Here is my sperg post on the first half of the whole show. There is a lot to be said about the ending, but I think this is sufficient enough to get a hint of how pozzed it it.

  • "Main character" is culling around the nigger and excusing his fuck ups all the time (the nigger just need time to learn, "mentor the nigger" meme)
  • "We are from the same area, muh I can relate the struggle" (civic nationalism rhetorics + nigger sympathizing) + he is a mutt (black dad + latino mom, conveniently that the only "heckn wholesome innocent good" character is racemixed (they added the stutter thing so he doesn't sound like a nigger talking thug, despite actually being a thug)
  • Allegedly Italian family (try to imply homogeneous family) are killing their own (trying to imply that homogeneous families are le bad/evil)
  • The female changes last name to reflect the moms name (Falcone --> Gigante) (anti-man feminism / "remove your heritage" bullshit, I get the context for the show, but it's still shoved in there)
  • The prostitutes are deliberately portrayed to hint at them being trannys (I get some dragqueen vibes from Oz's black "girl") Eve Karlo (Carmen Ejogo) just looks uncanny as a nigger with dyed blonde hair.
  • "The world is bad, not a certain group" and "do bad things to get money for the family" tropes - I get some marxist vibes to the "blame the system" shit since tankies use this type of rhetorics all the time. Also in episode 5, Sophia is doing the "they kept money all for themselves" (her family) speech and then "shares" it with everyone (the "redistribution" communist meme). This is not how a "maffia" would work.. this is retarded!

From episode 6.

I swear there was another tranny scene in earlier episodes, but I must have looked away then (piss break or checking on the food), but I'm pretty sure these are the trannys from earlier in the show. This ticks off the "tranny" checkmark for the show as well. (I can't edit my previous post.)
