I have the feeling certain subcultures on the internet hold a larger amount of pedophiles than the average population. Of course this is the case of the fags and the trannies, but i wanted to assess the relative proportion of pedophiles within specific internet communities or websites, like this very website or others such as specific twitter circles, or youtube.
Are you aware of any serious efforts to quantify the amount of pedophiles within the internet that are specific like this? I want to build a data base of internet users known as sexual predators myself, and it would be nice to know if such a project has been attempted before, because even though i have this ambition, i don't know where to start or how to go about it.

Like people drawn to cults, vulnerable and neglected children are drawn to online communities where predators abound. This has always been the case, except now they can do it online and no parent, guardian, or mandated reporter would ever know. Can we fix that before stranger dangering the Internet or forcing people to pony up ID to log on?

People drawn to childish subject matter like vidya and cartoons have a higher chance of being pedos, then again a lot of "intellectuals" like Foucault and Sartre were also pedos. I don't know where you would even start checking every online community for that since it seems so prevalent.

Frankly, load up VRChat and time how long it takes before you encounter a minor using an erotic avatar or interacting with other users in a sexual way. I would say being able to go 15 minutes without encountering it would be a lucky streak. It's bad. For people who haven't played it, it's far worse than you think it is. Every server has kids being exposed to hyper sexual shit or being groomed. There's something deeply sickening about seeing the most degenerate avatar possible and then it speaks and it's a little boy. If you've ever seen those vr chat trolling videos and think the examples in those videos are cherry picked in any way, they're not.

I don't think it's something generally quantifiable due to how widespread it is. children's media platforms (such as Roblox, as the Lieutenant mentioned above) obviously attract more of them like prey attracts predators. generally I think the modern online pedo is born from the isolation and pornographic haze of the modern internet, and these days they were probably groomed themselves or at least exposed to something at an unfortunately young age. pervert brain seeks the pursuit of taboo; pedophilia is where the frontier is currently. it's going to get worse.

Yeah, you nailed it. The amount of pedophiles on Discord was an unpleasant surprise but not wholly shocking in retrospect. Roblox on the other hand was fucking insane. I was (and still am) absolutely stunned by how big of a problem it is, and I'm sure I only just scratched the surface. I'm now anti-Roblox to the point where I don't even care if it makes me sound like a weirdo for having done the research on it - I tell everyone I know who has kids about the stuff I did with the Roblox data and I tell them to keep their kids the hell away from that Satanic game.

I don't know if I agree about playing video games being a red flag but in general I agree with you on this take. In the Discord thread I made I used Lionmaker Studios as an example. I think there's a clear line that can be drawn between people like Lionmaker who are just lonely, socially stunted retards, and people who are unrepentant criminals out to abuse children. That's not to excuse people like Lionmaker's behavior, but it feels like two distinct categories of crime, even if the end result is mostly the same.
