There's this Reddit survey from sometime before 2023 confirming them to be at least 7% self-reported pedos. Could probably get more.

I'm also skeptical that there is any fetish with a special relationship to mental retardation. I think that pedophilia is much more common than anybody wants to admit, or than it practically is, but the silent majority understands that any response to these feelings is too close to Hell. They are not 'NOMAPs', they choose the genuine non-offense of never feeding or identifying with the inciting thought, because they've got the decency and intelligence to recognize that some topics are black and white.

Inherent pedophilia is a lie, there are only personality traits that make it easier for some poor fuck to choose pedophilia. Boarding school I went to, the guy in charge of the dormitory would spend all night in his office, door open, click clacking on his MacBook.

It came out in a court document that he was chatting up teenage girls online and having a physical relations with one. Dude got away scot-free if you ignore loss of employment and the divorce. Local AOC is 16

What makes you think that? From my perspective there are multiple kinds of pedophiles, as much as there are multiple kinds of homosexuals and trannies, some might fit your perspective while others not so much.

Under this logic, autism is itself is a choice because biological determinism is a lie and inherited traits don't contribute to behavior or sex drive at all. In fact it would also mean that anti-social personality disorders are just a choice and serial killers were always normal all along.

Explain then why pedophiles reoffend by 100% even after physical or chemical castration. Pedophiles who have everything going against them still can't resist their urges and if you've ever watched a documentary centered on them, you can tell they don't want to either.
They don't care how much it obliterates their own lives, they can't and won't ever wrap their heads around the notion they're in the wrong and even when they do come out and say they are, it's a very transparent placation tactic and usually done as a hail Mary to regain trust. I've seen prison lifer sociopaths in documentaries give more convincing diatribes about how they're reformed. Watch George at the 41 minute mark and observe how he feigns regret.

What I find especially abhorrent about your viewpoint on this is the underlying notion that these child abusers can be rehabilitated if only given a worthwhile motive and pep talk. They can't, they have fucked up brains and they'll never change.

All I hear from you is "if I can link pedophiles to this thing I dislike, such as video games, I can get other people to dislike it too!" I've still yet to hear you explain how playing Hearts of Iron 4 is a red flag for pedophilia. Make that make sense.

What I find particularly disgusting is when someone tries to use a subject matter as dire and serious as this to achieve an ulterior motive, and that's become a key feature of anti-pedophilic discussions in recent years. It also absolves them of direct scrutiny be placing blame on something peripheral, it's literally no different than how boomers tried blaming KMFDM for Columbine. And, furthermore, it isn't about survival of the fittest, it's about the survival of the gene. It's why married men fuck around, why fertility was worshiped and the wife's virginity had such an importance. More offspring, healthier offspring that can further spread, happpier genes. The gene does not care how it's spread, even if it's via the underage, as quantity is better than quality if only to get more pulls on the genetic lottery, but that can just as well be achieved through adultery, like a (relatively) normal human being. Even so, I highly doubt that genetics alone really predispose someone towards being a kiddy diddler, it's more about the anti-virtuous cycle of diddling leading to more diddling, general childhood trauma and never growing up. That last one is probably the most important, and one that trannies very likely share (the child-like interpretation of what boys like versus what girls like, etc.)
Also, there's definitely 'tato fetishes. Look at how many autists are into vore, furries, etc. If autism is genetic, there's almost certainly some genetic factor in sexual fetishes – without at least minor genetic predisposition the vast majority of men wouldn't be attracted to tits and ass at all – even if it's indirect, but it isn't the only one.

But that's all internet tard speculation. If you want actual, general population-wide data, you'll have to dig in some fed files, otherwise it'll be limited to hyperspecific places like Roblox, VRChat, Discord or Twitter. Wherever trannies congregate, in other words. Playing video games isn't a red flag. Playing video games also played by children for the purpose of interacting with children, however, is.

Even paid investigators who work these units get rotated out on the regular because, unless you're a sick fuck yourself, it's not good for a person's mental state to involve themselves with these people.

To what end? Do you really think you have the capability to track these people better than intelligence agencies do?
Child trafficking rings often involve criminal gangs who have sophisticated ways of hiding their activities and tracking people down. Report it to the authorities if you uncover this shit.

And if you meant more like Laurelai Bailey/ LFJ types - they're already known as sexpests and nothing gets done about it.

Maybe i wasn't clear with my intentions, perhaps because English is not my mother tongue or because i didn't write in detail about it, so let me be clear, I think there is a distinction between people that have sex with children and people who either explicitly state their desire to do so, promote such behaviors on the open or support pedophilia from an ideological stand point. Both are pedophiles, but I have the desire to categorize the later groups, as from my personal experience, there are lots of people on the internet that openly behave in such a way but sadly there is not much information about them at all.
My interest on the topic is in regards to their behaviour, the hows and whys of it and any additional useful information that could be derived from gathering such a database, such as ways of preventing the spread and normalization of pedophilia, which is the practical consequence of the behaviour of these people.
I am not interested in pursuing "justice" or anything of the sort, mostly because in most of the cases i am talking about they are merely promoting immoral behaviors but don't actually commit any crimes that would be punished by their countries, and even if they did, there are precedents that i am aware of about some countries not being willing to go the lengths necessary to enforce their laws against such kind of offender. It is pretty clear for me that it would be futile to try to "expose" these people too, a lot of them are exposed and nobody gives a fuck, this kind of problem must be first quantified by its magnitude.
It is not as if i am the only person with these intentions, someone already posted an effort that was undertaken by some guys on roblox, and you are on kiwifarms, so your suspicion is suspicious itself, but feel free to think whatever you want about me, at any rate, i think gathering such information is important and necessary and i hope that at least you can see that.

Every so often I demonstrate 'the internet is full of paedophiles and that's why you aren't allowed on it without me there' to my children by picking some apparently child-popular place, adopting a profile that suggests I am 12 year old girl, and entering whatever kind of chat it has.

Less than 15 minutes, every time so far.

I truly believe the 'actual scale of the internet child predator problem' is absolutely massive. Instead of the old "one poisoned M&M in the whole bowl" allegory, I fear that places with kid-adjacent interests like any video gaming, any animation or cartoons, any toy collecting, any youtubers fan community... I fear that a good half or more of the M&Ms are poisoned.

The internet is not safe for children and there is absolutely no way to make it so.
