I have not seen any news of the rail bombings in a while but we know Ukraine were targeting bridges and trainlines to disrupt the flow. For years I have questioned if Russia's nuclear aresnal is even functioning. People think you can just dump warheads in a hanger and whip it out in 45 years. The materials deteriate along with the equipment fails and the Russian's built them so cheaply, we don't even know they will launch without splintering on imploding. Also from what I have seen post Putin and USSR soldiers and generals seem very anti-nuclear because it detracts from your military might.

There is no reason to assume Russia's nukes don't work. The Russian nuclear corps also receive disproportionately greater funds and are held to much higher standards than the rest of the Russian military. (granted in part because you can't exactly vranyo a nuclear ICBM).

The bigger question is whether Russia will actually use them over an offensive war. Much like a lolcow threatening suicide when they don't get their way; its all bullshit so long as they are afraid to die.

With their economy about to nosedive as planned with the sanctions etc, civil unrest will heighten and I am sure Putin will meet the fate of most Russian leaders as is tradition.

While the sanctions ARE working and Russia IS getting closer and closer to serious economic woes, its not sure to assume its imminently near.
The issue with "current trendline go on indefinitely" is that it assumes there are no external factors and no actions taken to counter-act it.

The Pentagon is claiming there's no evidence of Nork soldiers in Ukraine, but rather only in Kursk. This might be true. The contractors cannot really be used and the conscripts and professionals like Marines used seem to be of a poor quality and variously surrender or withdraw. Personally, I'm not sure of this Kursk adventure given that high quality Ukrainian troops are used while pressured fronts in the east buckle to breaking.

I think there might be some benefit to holding on to Kursk at least until we get a clearer picture on what the Trump admin is going to do. If nothing else it could serve as a poison pill if they end up trying to pull the "let's redraw the borders at the current lines" bullshit, since that will make a chunk of undisputed Russian clay according to the '92 borders under Ukrainian control for however long Russia intends to pretend to respect the agreement - and I doubt Russia will agree to that indignity. So nobody would be able to say "we could have had peace in January '25 but only those stubborn Ukrainians wouldn't agree to freeze the borders."

Pro-Russia people seem to never care about all the Russians dying in Ukraine. Its weirdest part of the war, to me, because I don't understand the calculus behind that decision. Zelensky is an excellent leader who was offered escape, but instead asked for help. He has shown great ability to court so many squabbling leaders and hold them together and is careful to respect Trump, even when its trying. Ukraine still has almost all of the land they retook after the Kharkiv offensive. The gains by Russia can be barely represented by a pencil mark. Queer Starmer is just a wealthy lawyer politician. The idea he has political views beyond helping his brother lawyers and Masons is interesting, but unlikely. There is no appreciation of the length of frontier that Ukraine has to hold. Basically over 1,200 miles (not counting the border with Belarus from where Russia invaded in part in '22) there are several fronts and Russia has regularly tried to open more. It's a bit like the Great War in the West, many small gains, back and forth. It's a war with biplanes (AN-2) and drones.

I've seen enough retarded takes to recognize one. First of all, best time for Zelensky to flee was at the beginning of this, he had every opportunity to do so, but he didn't - there's hardly any benefit to being a #1 target of the invading army.
He's known for running on anti-corruption platform and as far as I know, did everything he could to deliver on that promise - under him the country was improving.
If you want to see an actual bad leader in a similar situation, look no further than Afghanistan's Ashraf Ghani.
All things considered, Zelensky performed incredibly well.
