Furcation has been a weird one this year. It's been good overall :3 - but I put that largely down to the friends I got to meet and chill with. (cont)

I know the furc staff work their balls off, so this is no criticism on the hard work they have put into making the convention happen. This year, however... the vibe just DIDN'T feel right. I doubt any official announcement will happen, after the mass purging cover up. But everything was just - off.

I feel like the park didnt want us there. Lot of little things, too many to list, all adding up to what I believe was a prejudice behaviour towards furries and the wider culture of the fandom. I have left feeling like the venue doesnt want us thete, and Furc has not been handling the fallout well.

The last couple of days, there was massive amounts of anxiety amoungst congoers, including myself. As we got fed outright faulse info, leaked internal details, exagerated butthurt memes, and observed an almost a militant approach towards curbing 'non family friendly' behaviour, even in private.

It might be a misguided understanding of what truely happened, but i feel like this all could have been handled and communicated significantly better, and never should have escalated to the blizzard rumour-mill outcome that it did. I do wonder how much Furc's hands were tied just to keep PD happy.

I do hope things recover for Furcation. Their reputation has taken a bit hit, and I would personally love to continue attending and supporting Furcation... ... Im just really unsure how much i'd be willing to go back to THAT venue, given how PD have behaved towards us, over the behaviour of a few.

I'm putting this here as I want you all to know the situation first hand and to try and stem the leaks. It'll go to internal announcements in due course once I've had time to recover and think about things.

Parkdean Corporate have called me this morning and have confirmed that we are not welcome back.

I have been given until Friday to remove all references to Sandford Holiday Park and Parkdean Resorts from all advertising, posts and our website in regard to a 2025 event. I have contacted the relevant HoDs and they are working towards that.

The rationale for the non-return is as follows:

• They are not happy with the fact there has been illegal substance use at the event
• They are not happy with the level of 'adult material' that has been posted on social media related to the event
• They are not happy with the bomb of negative reviews that have taken place on TripAdvisor and Google Reviews
• They are not happy with the Twitter drama, especially as the Parkdean Resorts logo and name are being used for all to see
• Upon post-checkout review, they have found a couple of the units have been trashed and a fair few damages have occurred.
• They are currently getting quotes for reparations and will provide a damage invoice for us to pay. I have no value indication of this right now.

I am utterly stunned at the level of disrespect that has been shown by the minority and the majority of us are now having to suffer this.

I feel at this point that Furcation 2025 is going to have to be a break year. Event contracts etc take time to sort and I need to have a lot of discussions with our staff team. If we do find a venue to take us on, I feel it's going to be 2026 before that can happen. I need to see what options are out there and where we go next.

i think most people now, not just furries, are way more shameless than they've ever been
sex has always been a covert thing and everything in society that you're expected to keep quiet about has that pretense that you're not meant to shove it in everyone's faces
