has she claimed she hired a copyright company? Because that's stupid, and probably a lie.
She claims she has, and I believe her because she seems to have an overly broad interpretation of what some of these companies claim to do. She's been researching this on some level (badly) and Salah seems to think he understands this company's services as well.
See
Rulta for example. They charge 324/mo for "unlimited requests" (social media takedown requests, DMCAs), cover up to 4 channels/accts, claim to "copyright" both intellectual property (videos) and website branding. She thinks they'll be her lawyers and go after reaction channels for her.
[Hat tip to Sansa Cooks for the Rulta page]
She could afford to sign up at the time she claims she did, because she had just gotten her youtube paycheck for the month. She and Salah are both convinced they can use this "system" to bully the reaction channels into "revenue sharing", as she spoke about extensively, so she probably thinks FFG and Yaba will be paying her bills in a month.
Needless to say, this service has got to have fine print and exceptions a mile long.
They might have an AI file form requests to youtube, but there's no way they're going to file dozens of copyrights with the US Copyright Office at 40 bucks per copyright. Obviously, there won't be any lawyers either for 324/mo.
She'll never get revenue sharing from any big channel.
in the U.S., would she need to attend the court case, or a representative could attend for her?
Pretending this is a real case:
In the US, a lawyer in this type of action could do everything except testify for their client at trial. Most claims would go to arbitration or settlement, of course, since copyright/intellectual property trials are ruinously expensive. This kind of case cannot go through small claims court, so it would need lawyers in a district, circuit or federal court.
FYI: There's even a closed court for national security matters, like if Boeing and Northrup Grumman were fighting over designs for a new ballistic missle.
Why are we discussing this as if it's at all legitimate?
Because its funny and Gunt is hilariously stupid about legal matters.
She's been on youtube for eight years, but still can't understand Fair Use or Terms of Service. She thinks "bullying" on reaction videos is illegal somehow. She openly says a US Judge would look at the mean things a reaction channel says about her and decide copyright issues based on hurt feelings.
She even recently threatened to call American police on youtubers who show publicly available pics of her relatives. She implied their kids would be involved somehow, perhaps left motherless when Yaba goes to prison for bullying.
