I'm crashing the fuck out, man.

I don't know what the wiggers are doing. Normally I'd be optimistic (maybe they're just letting them leave for Thanksgiving!) but I think it's kind of clear that's not what's happening, especially if Mizzy's been able to have a live stream with some of the contestants.

The bulk of the content over the past few days has largely driven by or at least propelled by new fish. Burt is experiencing diminishing returns, Payton has done fuck all, and Binx is content, sure, but she's been annoying beyond the scope of the show for the most part. I'm fine with not liking people: I hated Slimeball, I was growing to loathe Kawan, but they were filling villain spaces. I had fun hating them. I demand more from Binx as a viewer because she's been here the longest and she was never explicitly in a villainous role; Sam said to prove she's more than a thot and she failed spectacularly. Which I could deal with as long as the other fish were around to keep her on her toes or act as a counter to her.

I don't know how to fucking explain this.

You don't just introduce a new cast of characters, settle them in beyond guest star roles, and then pull them out. I gave a fuck about Star, I gave a fuck about Turbo, I gave a fuck about Tony and Kawan and Lily, all for vastly different reasons. They had personalities to them and as someone who enjoyed Famous House 1.0, this was me getting to experience that feeling again: getting to know these fucks and anticipating their reactions to shit going off the rails.

Now I've been rug-pulled and I hate it.

Just pulling them aside and saying sayanora is fucking bullshit, man. The other contestants had some form of stressor before they left but this is fucked. I kept reading through the pages hoping they would not be dropping them like flies but one by one, every fucking contestant got a non-exit minus Kawan who really deserved to fucking stay after his performance, fuck whatever their plan was. He barricaded himself in the fucking penthouse to avoid the chaos emerald. Come the fuck on.

I don't care about Frank coming back to hassle Binx or Payton. I don't care about Burt. I'd rather see Kawan and Tony hassled. I'd rather see Star milling about with a burnt baby doll and workout every morning. I'd rather watch Lily try and spread more herpes. I'd rather see Turbo's brand of non-content because seeing her sat down with an octopus on her head is new and fresher than Payton doing nothing. I'd rather watch Kevin wander around looking judgemental and bored out of his fucking mind.

I don't care about the old contestants because in a house of new faces, they failed to engage me. And now they're just handed a sense of security and a Fish Tank they're already prepared for and prepped for a victory they don't fucking deserve? Fuck that shit, man. Fuck that shit.

Now Jobe's gone, Fatty stays, and Luke's been demoted to freeloader? And I'm supposed to be excited about the next however many fucking days of Binx and Payton being smug and Burt still being fucking confused.

Smugtank isn't fun though, even with The Unfuckable Persian, Simbal, Sicilian, Ling Ling, etc., at least they provided content. Binx and Payton do NOTHING. Burt has become increasingly confused with time and requires prompting, like a Fishtank CWC getting prompted by Idea Guys. I believe this is not correct. Peyote said to Kawal earlier today "at least you guys get a daily rate, we do not". I take this to mean only a few of the fish (like cymbalta) actually got a daily payment.
There were a few instances of production jumping in at conversations early on in the show and telling people to not discuss payments, contracts and that kind of shit specifically because of this.

And tbh its kinda shitty of production to not give everyone some bare minimum of payment considering the amount of money they get from the show - this is probably the exact reason that Shinji was particularly upset in S2 and said he doesn't do "charity work".

I am farily certain from all the fish who have left the show that they were paid out a daily rate and that Payton is just retarded. (Or had a different contract)

They all mention getting paid more than what they made in fishbucks, plus it was talked about during the show about them getting paid a weekly/daily stipend for being on there. Mizzy said she made 12-14k from being on the show.

Luke also mentioned in his first live after being kicked from Famous House that he would be willing to come back but would probably ask for a higher rate.

Doesn't that go both ways? Money spent can be for negative or positive reasons. Why spend money degrading a fish if they're just going to filter it or keep TTS off altogether? That messes with the results. Yet it never slows down.

Yes and no.

When you do/pay for a TTS it is fairly instantaneous - you are going to know whether it is approved or rejected within like 2-3 minutes (I don't know how long it actually takes). Then you hear it live (also presumably within just a few minutes). Even if your TTS gets rejected you immediately get refunded.

If you're spending for TTS and fishtoys across the entire season and lets say you spend $50 (not an outrageous sum) and you're supporting one particular contestant - then at the last second the wiggers swoop in and go "nah nigga we be frontin' and shit" and little wigger-Jet jumps in the air and clicks his Balenciaga heels together and chooses some totally faggot/unfair option that fucks over the contestant someone was supporting for the past 6 weeks. You'd be pretty pissed.

The exact same applies even if you didn't spend a single cent but you were watching a few hours a day and making tweets about the show. If your tweets even got moderate traction and had more people turn up and spend money or raise more attention to the show, and then production does some wigger ass shit to piss you off, you're probably not going to prioritize watching the next season.

In any case, I don't think that will happen, production would be really stupid to try and do something too jarring. Jet indicated they have "something planned" for the finale that will be challenging + fair and that's really the best way to deal with it. And even if the results of the finale aren't what production expects they can still offer consolation prizes or at least do something to make sure that the most hardcore fish get some sort of acknowledgement (they've been pretty good at that for the most part anyway by retweetering people after they leave the show and shit like that).

Thanks to everyone's directions, I've found Luke.

Fishtank is an amazing show actually. I was wrong. I'd like to make a write-up about exactly how I've come to understand production's genius in the last few minutes and go into austistic detail about everywhere I've gone wrong. My prior opinion needs to be erased from the internet and I hope I can replace it in all your minds with this once, as it is a better and more accurate depiction of what Fishtank truly is and all the wonders it carries. Production is amazing and can do no wrong. Season 3 is the best season and will continue to be the best season and I'm here to explain to you why.

I agree with you on both things.

Luke can easily be a fish, but they can't just nig the results to force him as the winner in some super obvious way - if they do that then they're retarded. I mean to begin with it is only because they're retarded that he left and rejoined so early on, so Luke being in "fish" purgatory/existential crisis is purely on them to begin with. They're also the ones that re-introduced him among like 20 other new people which also fucked up the show a bit (IMHO).

And yeah, I totally agree the mainstream audience would suck shit and ruin everything that makes Fishtank special. When you attract large crowds they ruin fucking everything (look at the internet, look at your favorite fishing spot, look at tourism, look at everything)
But when it comes to money and viewercounts, I don't really think they've managed to make huge sums or gained huge viewership this season. Putting on Fishtank as it is, is a huge financial risk because of how volatile the contestants are - imagine you have someone like Burt or Jeff and they actually stab someone and you have to shut down the entire thing like a week into starting? If that kind of shit happens they will also be purged of any sponsors pretty rapidly.

The problem or I guess situation is that both Jet and Sam Hyde obviously want to turn this into a sort of media empire - probably not quite on the level of MrBeast (but Jet obviously have huge ambitions with a pirate ship or space ship season). I think the peak viewership I saw this season was about 15k viewers and I do not think that is enough to get the kind of income they want and need to make this thing scalable and feasible to continuously run on a long term basis.
I don't really want a mainstream audience but that is what the Wiggers are trying to court and I am sure they are aware that it will kill anything magical about the show and just turn it into a generic off-brand Big Brother when they do so. They very much need and want legit investors and sponsors and they're not going to get too much of that with 15k viewers unfortunately.

A lot of people in this thread seem to be gobsmacked about how much money they must be churning, but even if they make $3-500k in profit (after tax), or even a clean million dollars from this season, that really is not a large amount of money that they can use to make a bigger/better next season.

I think it depends on how much control Sam has over the product. If Jet is the big boss it's fucked the second it becomes mainstream but if Sam is the big boss I doubt it would change, he didn't change WP for Adult Swim/Turner I don't think he'd change Fishtank unless someone bought it out, in that case I think he'd just start over under a new brand name doing the same shit, hopefully with someone far more competent than Jet.
