Burt interrupting Luke to say, "can you get to the point? Your story is going on and on"
luke_blank.jpg
I'm pretty sure he explained how he got kicked off Big Brother to the girls yesterday, so he's basically trying to talk non-stop to two people who've heard it before, a space cadet schizophrenic and Fatty. I'm actually starting to wonder now Luke's no longer able to do a "bit" and doesn't have any normal people to bounce off of, if he's starting to show that he puts on a front and is maybe more than a bit autistic (he joked about that previously).
still think they could have gotten more out of them just seems like a total waste
A factor might have been Jet wanting to have a chill Thanksgiving with the OG Fish, knowing that Act 3 had failed. If the new Fish were still there - on day 4 of "Famous House" - they'd likely be pestering production with questions or even hostility.

-famous house with ten new guys is on its fourth day
-the new guys are for the most part kinda unique and interesting, at least the ones still there (please no drag sperging)
-surely can still get a week of decent content out of these new people
-suddenly kick all the new guys except the plant
-still 9 days to go
-the house is dead on thanksgiving because you kicked everyone the day prior for who the fuck knows why
-the guys still there are overdone to death, except luke kinda, but even he needs people to bounce off of
-fatty is still in the house
-still 9 fucking days to go with an empty house with just more binx, more peyton and more burt

They brought in too many people IMO. Watching people like Kawan get fucked with is only entertaining when you've invested some level of interest in them as a person/character. There were so many new people and half of them were so similar it was hard to even tell them apart.

Alex B, Breezy, Gianna, Alyssa, and Turbo were all basically indistinguishable to me for the first ~36 hours they were there, and the only reason Lilly's not included in that list is because she's Asian and reminds me of the Saigon whore that bit Chris Farley's nose off in Dirty Work.

did they explain why they just unilaterally eliminated 2.0 fish? Just seems lazy
My guess is that what they had hoped would happen didn't materialize. Their idea was that oldfish would be pitted against newfish and that it might extend into season 4 if the newfish won the eliminations, so I think they had planned to follow through with it but it just didn't work out.

However, the Brandon faggot and how his situation was mishandled by production threw a giant wrench in the works and I think created drama that wasn't supposed to be a part of the show. I think production realized it wasn't going to be feasible and it was too confusing with too many new people at once and decided to cut their losses - specifically their financial losses, because the added expense of all those extra people probably didn't actually materialize in becoming more viewers/more spending like they had probably anticipated.

It was a really interesting twist/challenge conceptually but given everyone already knew it was going to happen I don't think it got that hyped up by people and probably didn't generate new viewers - Brandon's "kiddy dragshow" bullshit ended up overshadowing the whole thing and lead to a lot of conflict and division and all sorts of accusations flying around to the point the main character's role and presence basically got almost completely diminished and diluted (this can be seen by cymbalta, who was a pretty staple character at that point getting voted off first and luke was likely to be voted off instead of the bunch of new, mostly totally valueless people)

Felt like they should have mixed in more plants instead of vapid copies of each other.

Listening to whatever room they happened to be in become drowned out with mindless yapping got old, fast. Fatty was not helping with this.

I mentioned this a few posts back, but I’m pretty sure that Sam tanked the Famous House 2.0 bit because he was upset that the new fish didn’t all immediately turn on Brandon for making “Queen Lactatia”s sequined jumpsuit. He was so pissed that he wasn’t able to stay in character, and totally broke character. Afterwards production sent a message about how they were “ready to crash this plane.”

It doesn’t make sense that kicking everyone out after 3 days was the original plan, when you consider the costs of flights, day rates, hotels, etc. Not to mention the effort of actually assembling the cast. They would certainly have brought in more TTS/fishtoy money if the new cast had stayed around, especially as the viewers got to know them a little bit. Agreed that the whole endeavour seems to have been wasted.

Just as an aside, it is retarded how many people in this thread are still seething about child drag shows a full 200+ pages later. Give it a rest.

Yeah, as gay as it sounds, I wonder what Fish Tank would be like with a real show runner or producer.

Someone who got the vibe, but knew how to steer the ship with confidence and experience.

Luke is telling Burt that he's part Cherokee and is claiming that Binx and Payton have upset him by making jokes about the Natives, and his cavalier attitude to racism is a defensive mechanism about his great-great-great-grandfather's people getting genocided. Fatty is joining in and they're encouraging Burt to tell off the girls and make them apologise for what their ancestors did to "our people".
