I'm not unrealistic, the rebels will probably only truly gain a few dozen square kilometers of territory and capture a few tons of supplies and a few dozen vehicles but seeing Assad's dogs run away in mass is hilarious.

The Russian TG channels I follow are ENRAGED at the Arabs at the moment, talking about how it looks the same as when they broke and run at Palmyra in 2017....

A reasonable TG channel for pro rebel updates in Syria is Clash Report. Turkish (forgive me) run but in English

Ngl I refuse to believe these are real people. I’ve never met someone irl whose FP literally boils down to “does it help Israel or hurt Israel” and that’s seemingly the only deciding factor. Now I could get this coming from Israelis I fully understand it, but coming from “Americans” it just reeks of shilling. I don’t like Assad very much but pretending the rebels are gonna do anything but create a Sunni Islamist state that’s going to target alawites, Shia, Christians and Druze comes across as fully buying Obama era propaganda about the rebels. I just hope the war ends as soon as possible to end the suffering and refugees.

Still seems the Russian air force is active; Turks should have given the rebels at least some air defenses unless they are all blown up in Ukraine?

Edit I think the operation might be short lived by the time Syrian armored vehicles make their way to the conflict along with artillery and aviation doing its thing.

The rebels destroyed at least one Russian drone team and captured their drones. These people had spent their time there attacking civilians, in accordance with Russian cultural norms.
They also captured a few dozen pieces of heavy equipment (artillery, tanks, IFVs), as well as ammunition storages.

There's also been rebel released videos of drone attacks on SAA.

Well hope the rebel offensive won't be as short-lived as Ukraine's belgorod, kursk and 2023 counteroffensive. This is what happens in a 24 hour period in Ukraine.

Sending a large force to Assad is a fools errand if they are going to get bombed by aviation and artillery. Maybe the west should have supplied them with mobile air defenses (they obviously keep getting supplied to Ukraine because they keep getting destroyed)?
I am hearing nonstop reports of the rebels getting bombed.

You mean Syria if you're quoting me about the rebels getting bombed? At least Russians channels give me a time and date or recorded destroyed footage of Ukrainian equipment, Ukrainians channels don't give an organized time and date with recorded footage and if they do they are rare occurrences.

Edit: nonstop news of shit getting captured and re-captured, at least the war is more exciting than the boring Ukraine war.

I don't know where you've been the last 15 years. But the allegiances of jihadi groups are always changing, and they will always be found attacking both people you do and do not like.
