yeah this ain't same Trump from 2016 for little Justin to deal with. Guaranteed unless there's tangible and visible measures in place alongside a measurable drop in border hoppers and drug smuggling that 25% tariff is going nowhere - and Trump will not waste any opportunity rubbing it in Trudeau's face. We all knew this would happen one way or another. Either Kamala wins and she pardons him to make Joe look less blatantly corrupt, or else Trump wins and Joe does it himself anyway because his political career is over.

So, my knowledge of law isn't even armchair level, but this pardon means Hunter can't plead the 5th on what he's been doing the last 10 years, right? After all, you have no chance of self-incrimination if given a blanket pardon for all crimes.

We knew the Hunter pardon was coming, but I thought he was going to do it until January—if not Trump. Apparently Hunter’s sentencing was scheduled in a week, hence the hurry.
What really rubs me the wrong way is that the pardon starts with all activities since Jan 1, 2014. Hunter joined that Ukranian company in 2014.

Yeah, but my point isn't about Hunter. It's about everybody around him. From what I understand, Hunter can't plead the 5th anymore, and therefore can be forced to testify about every single thing he's done for the past 10 years. Hunter is safe, but everybody else involved in his illegal activities is not.
