I've been ruminating on this post specifically since the site's been down for a few days. Seems like a good opportunity for an autistic rant.

That "rule", no shitposting can only come from one of two places: Either they have no idea what it means and thus assume it's a kind of trolling or, even worse, think that TVT is too good for mindless threads and funny pictures. Even if that dumb thread wasn't locked, you can tell it wasn't going to get any traction since a guy with a comically mismatched face is "nightmare fuel" according to the average forum user.

For a userbase that considers itself to be progressive, the website is ironically very stagnant and resistant to change and the ways of the modern internet. The forums are a great example of this, they're still being run like it's 2010. They have powermods policing everything, "quirky" little descriptors next to your name, and even play forum games that all seem to be terribly unfunny. Remember you can RP with your e-friends in a quasi-sexual manner but posting funny pictures is a no go.

Every now and again, I am reminded that it's not all autistic furries and redditors too scared to use Reddit. There are indeed normal people on that shithole, this thread is proof of that (as much as we can classify as normal anyway)

I think that this is an gradually shrinking population if you look at the only types of people who regularly posts there. I know that the site was always an bit on the weird side, but it wasn't always to the point where people were arguing about how an fictional character is racist and why it's an bad thing.

I remember when the movie came out that kids in middle school were calling the shark gay, so this isn't completely an unreasonable interpretation. Of course our interpretation was influenced by the shark acting like an effeminate sissy instead of just his dad disapproving of his lifestyle.

I find the way they tag spoilers so weird, like half the end spoilers in the Alien Covenant page are all exposed, why bother tagging "x happen to the character in the end" when 5 lines above there's a detailed explanation of what happen in the end of the film?

It's in other pages too, but this one is specially weird because they repeat it a lot
