Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

Yeah, the only less popular take could maybe be MM8. A lot of people dislike that one, almost as much as MM&B.
8 is the only "classic" mega man game that I genuinely do not like, aside from 1. The rest are all good. 8 isn't godawful like 1 is, but it's just severely mediocre.

You're right about MM1. Even the remake has issues, most notably being way too fucking hard.

I still like 8, even more than all the NES ones (except maybe MM6), but there's some particularly bullshit sections, like the infamous "JUMP, JUMP, JUMP!! SLIDE, SLIDE, SLIDE!!!!1!" crap. I still find it more balanced than the "NES Hard" stuff though, for the most part.

The best 8-bit MM is probably MMV for GB, they'd ironed out the series' kinks a lot by then.

MM7 and MM&B are the best in the Classic series, especially MM&B. If you like MMX then playing as Bass will feel natural. It's hard as fuck though, and feels impossible playing as Mega Man.
You are out of your gourd. How unbalanced MM&B is in favor of Bass is criminal. Hiding nearly 40 CDs behind Rush Search and not giving the Super Adapter or something for collecting them all is ridiculous.

speaking of classic MM, I would say 4 is underrated, at least when it comes to the NES titles people always talk about 1-3 as if 4-6 don't exist which is unfortunate imo

Mega Man admittedly seems like an afterthought, as if they built the game around Bass, then added Mega Man in for replay value at the last minute.

Still, the game favoring Bass doesn't take away from how good his campaign is. He controls so damn smoothly, probably the best feeling character to control in the entire series (it sucks they nerfed him for MM10).

I would disagree because his second jump has significantly lowered forward momentum.

Then again, not like any of that matters because Treble Boost is absurd. You can really tell Inafune had a habit of giving the secondary characters he designed bonuses over the mains which he did not.

He's already overpowered as it is, that more sluggish feeling second jump is fine. It's like how weak his base shots are, a trade-off for how much extra control you get.

He designed Roll, didn't he? I've never heard about her being overpowered, although I never used her myself in either of the two games I know she's playable in (Powered Up and Chip Challenge).

Speaking of Chip Challenge, man, what a piece of shit game that is. This is the unpopular opinions thread though, not the factual statements thread.

The base shots double in power from 1 to 2 when using the Super Buster. MM gets a quick charge, which is obviously not as good since the damage on full charge is 3. It's not really a tradeoff at that point.

I haven't touched Roll's campaign in Powered Up so I can't tell you either. Perhaps I could have phrased it as "more effort" to universalize the point.

And now for an actually unpopular opinion: YIIK wasn't that bad, and nu-YIIK is better so far.

An even less popular opinion: YIIK would have been considered a masterpiece had it been made by a Japanese developer
How? A large part of the games hate is that it's uncut California hipster shite. If the game were made by a Japanese guy, it would be very different by necessity.

AC unity is by far the best assassins creed game. It captures what it’s like to be an assassin the best. The big crowds, the parkour, the stealth, the black box missions (with multiple ways to complete the mission), oh, and the multiplayer. AC unity was peak. It’s a shame the story was fucking trash.

Okay how about this, let's go in the middle: maybe not a masterpiece, but if it were made by someone like SWERY you would have more of its flaws overlooked.

There are no good Assassin's Creed games.

No, there are no good Assassin's Creed stories. And even that's only because of the whole fucking retarded Animus/precursors/orbs bullshit. If you look at just the historical story of AC2, it's good.

And the gameplay was good in several of them.

It just hasn't been for a while now.

Mouthwashing is kinda lame and not the “wow so deep” game everyone makes it out to be. I don’t think it’s bad per say, but some parts are really heavy-handed.
I could guess the "big reveal" without even playing or knowing anything about the game. The "actually, your character is the very bad guy" trope has been overplayed to death.
