If I made a project where we all work together to make a synchronized clock using stuff from the internet, would you join in?

Actual question here, would you be interested in joining?

You have to elaborate, this doesn't make much sense & is too vague.
Basically we work together to make a 24 hour video using YouTube videos, forum posts, anything that came from the internet to make a video that’s a fully synchronized clock that when you watch it from say 4:47 AM there’s a clock of a someone saying it’s 4:47 AM.

That's an... ambitious work you're talking about.

I don't think many people here would sign up, specially during holidays, because it's a lot of work to track down that stuff, but maybe you can make a thread (here or elsewhere) where people casually submit those videos with the time on sight.

So you can make a list of the 1440 minutes, then people submit the footage and the time gets checked, to see whee you're at. But the point is that it's an open thread for users to casually post this, because otherwise signing up for this is a heavy commitment.

Reactions: Oh Sugar
"alright you handle 10pm to 11pm, status on 7am?"
"Good so far, but I'm having trouble finding 7:13-7:19, sir!"
"Sir, I have 3pm finished but some of it was in military time, will that work?"
"GODDAMN IT DOES ANYONE HAVE 4:47?!"

Sounds daunting, but eventually, it could be completed (like maybe after some months), there's no time limit though.

And I guess it would make a good meme video, probably rack up some views on YouTube until it's content-ID'd and reuploaded with muted parts.

It's one of those projects that you work on by yourself in secret, then when you show it off, it seems super impressive, not something you make a collaborative effort of. There are many fun collabs on the Internet but there's usually a level of creativity to it, it's not just "find a bunch of videos of clocks and mash them together."

I don't doubt it can be done, it just sounds like a fucking retarded thing to spend time and energy on.
Of course it is, a lot of things on the Internet are that.

Have you ever heard of the video: "LOTR but every time sam takes a step he says it'll be the farthest he's ever been".

It is exactly as it sounds, 9 hours of the first movie. Every single time Sam takes a step, a 25 or so second cutscene replays (when they're about to exit The Shire).

Here's a video of someone who watched it, but imagine the editing of the real thing:

Naw stuff like the movie title number thread has to arise organically. I kinda get it but this seems way more autistic and difficult.

Yeah but you only have to watch the movies and edit it to achieve that. You don't have to have several people scour the Internet hoping a video or picture that features a clock to then just make a video that people will get disinterested in after 8am.
This is fucking delusional, but to be fair I'd like to imagine the credits to a video like that
"SonicXlover256 - 9:15, JerkinJergins -9:16, Null - 9:17..."

It is a bold project, I'll give you that.

In regards to the movie though, editing in a cutscene every time a character takes a step (where the premise of the character is that he has to take a lot of steps, in an action-adventure film), is also something else, you're basically editing in 6 hours, in batches of half a minute when X happens. Was just an example though.

And it won't even go viral because we made it instead of some dumb TikTard.

Yes, but the point is, you already have all the content, it's just a matter of editing, you're not wasting everyone's time finding shit that may or may not exist. The elements you have to factor into a the clock project are exponentially higher. Like one you have to find a video that has a clock or may feature a clock at some point. Then you need to have that clock feature a time that you need, and keep in mind it can't be the same video with the same clock or it's basically shit.
Then you need to clip and edit it.

Is this making any sense to you, I already said it was an ambitious project, but again it's something you do on your own time, not something you pawn off to others just to make a video of clocks.

Yes of course, I get it.

I'll just reiterate that this could be done in an open thread where people check if they want, and maybe someone bored, some day, will fill like an hour, out of their own volition. Sure, would take time, but it's an open recipe for passerby folks to fill in with ingredients every so and then.

You can probably make some Redditors do 75% of the work and call it a day, with a well earned rest.

Fair enough, if OP wants to make a thread about his clock video and have it go into obscurity, he is free to do so, but don't call it this thread because I'm not seeing a whole lot of people posting clocks.

Edit: here I'll start.
