Thank goodness someone's finally giving this sperg a thread.
I'll give Lindsey credit where it's due, back when he did the grievance study hoax it was a genuinely helpful insight into how corrupt and ideologically captured academia had become.
Nowadays it seems like something broke in his brain and he's going full schizo and attacking random people on Xitter just for disagreeing with him.
If I had to wager a guess as to why, I'd largely agree with what others have said in this thread earlier. Lindsey is still stuck in the 1990s Francis Fukayama style neoliberal mind-prison where he imagines progress is a straight upward line that coincidences with the passage of time. I think Whig Historiography is the term for it if I remember correctly.
Like many of the self described "Anti-SJW's" before him who still identify as liberals or """classical liberals""" he is unable to see how our current situation is a direct result of the very same 1990s era political paradigm he wishes to return to.
The fundamental assumptions of the post-war neoliberal establishment are directly at odds with reality and as such they result in the complete divorce from reality we see in the left and academia today.
If you truly believe that all people, regardless of race, IQ, Religion, culture, ethnicity, or anything else are all EXACTLY the same and it is only someones socialization that determines their life outcomes then everything that the far-left and academia says about racism makes logical sense.
If humans were truly blank slates, interchangeable cogs able to be molded and placed into whatever area they are required in, then the only logical conclusion for why their is less of [X] minority group in colleges or public office or in senior leadership positions is because of discrimination.
That however, obviously isn't the case because all of the things mentioned above DO matter and human beings are not all perfectly equal blank slates. James Lindsey seems unable to admit this and lashes out at anyone who implies it might be the case.
I've often thought about why people like him can't simply admit that there are differences between men and women and between different cultures. The conclusion I've come to is that they literally CAN'T admit that to themselves because of the conclusions it would lead to.
If you are Christian, or even just religious in general, you believe that all human beings have souls and are made in God's image and as such are worthy of human decency and respect. It doesn't matter how smart they are or how capable they are at doing highly complex tasks, all that matters is that they live a decent and moral life.
However, if you're an agnostic atheist like James Lindsey who sees the world through a purely mechanical lense and tries to use only logic and reason to operate in the world, then if you admitted some groups were less capable of certain highly complex and difficult tasks you would have to come to the logical conclusion that they should not be in those positions as it would decrease efficiency.
That conclusion is directly opposed to the rough neoliberal morality that everyone in America is taught growing up that states anyone can become anything they want if they just work hard enough.
If you have a purely meritocratic system where only the most qualified people are able to fill their respective roles you're going to find some groups are vastly overrepresented in certain roles simply because that's how the world operates. For some reason boomers got the retarded idea in the 1960s that this was all the fault of discrimination and if everything were truly equal we would see perfectly representation of every minority group relative to the population in every role.
Every step we as a society take trying to justify why we haven't seen that happen yet just ends up with academics making more and more excuses as to why we haven't REALLY gotten to an even playing ground when in reality the issue is we are running face first into the brick wall of reality and expecting the laws of the universe to bend to what we wish they would be.
Until Lindsey is able to truly grapple with that fundamental truth I expect him to spiral further and further into insanity as he tries to walk the tightrope between being on the side of truth and objective science and trying to defend an outdated wishful fantasy of what we hoped human nature would be like in the 1990s.

I followed a few of the people featured on twitter at the time and I'm sure I remember that after a few years there would be the odd snarky mention of him as someone burning to make a named movement out of the whole shtick. It's always the fedora tippers who go off the deep end.....

The weirdest part of all of this is that he doesn't believe in God and in fact sneers down at people who do.
If he believed in God, I could indulge him in a whole lot more of this schizophrenia because it would actually make more sense. It would be him asserting that forces of evil are acting against forces of good. But he doesn't believe in a benevolent supernatural force. Just evil supernatural forces. That makes no sense at all.
