If they've released him directly into a rehab, that won't be reflected on Vinelink, just the fact he's "released," because that's HIPAA protected.

This is correct. They would never post he was in any sort of medical facility etc. Just that he was in their custody at the jail or not.

His bond condition was to be released to Scott Peterson, his father, for the purpose of being admitted to rehab. So his dad is taking him, the jail isnt transporting him.

I guess doing it this way sticks Austin with the bill vs Virginia. Its not so much a "court ordered rehab" but a bond condition. Austin doesnt HAVE to go to rehab, he can choose to just sit in jail until his trial. I dont think going to rehab a second time is going to get him out of being indicted by the grand jury. The time for "look at me I went to rehab cut me a deal" has passed. He should have just sat in there so he can go back to the crack rock after pleading guilty and not accepting probation.
