I'm Gen Z so I used to think that it was just older people who got burned in a past relationship who ended up bitter and jaded about the opposite sex but I see guys younger than me posting stuff about how "modern women are completely un-dateable" when these dudes have never even been in a long-term committed relationship. Obviously, there are going to be different issues in finding a partner depending on whether you're a man or a woman so I can't speak for the female experience. However, as a younger guy my experience in the dating market has never been reflective of the insane shit people post about online.

If I had to wager a guess based on my own life experience this feels like an issue with pornsick gooners. The people I know who have the most issues in relationships are almost always guys that are chronic gooners. Luckily, or unluckily, depending on your point of view, I had a father who cheated on my mother because he was a chronic porn addict so from a very young age I promised myself never to touch that shit.

There's old and there's too old, but from experience people who marry in their early to mid 30's seem to be more stable than those who marry right out of their teens or their early 20s, specially the men who will marry anything that says yes to them, only to find out how divorce works.
