The only time I recall female Ranma being at a disadvantage was during the moxibustion storyline, but it wasn't due to strength -- when Mousse is first introduced, Ranma's short arms and legs couldn't compete with Mousse's.I recall the old anime had an episode where Ryoga and Mousse team up and that tries to insert some BS that "female Ranma is weaker but faster" but IIRC that's not manga-canon.
I've always hoped for more Mermaid saga stories, and I've heard her say the same thing, but I'm not sure where else she'd go with it -- it had really started to get "out there" (Mermaid's Gaze?). I tended to view early InuYasha as a sort of thematic sequel. Mao sometimes hits those same notes. Still, it would be nice to see how Mana and Yuta are getting along in the age of social media. And apperently Takahashi doesn't view Mermaid Saga as completed
I really enjoyed the new UY adaptation (I was mostly there to make sure they did Ran right). I know I won't get it, but I'd love an adaptation where Nabiki goes on the date with the guy, and they spend the night trying to pass their bills off to one another. The original anime went off the rails pretty quickly for me, between the obvious drop in the animation budget and their decision to do original stories, for whatever reason.
