They said they are going to send the buyback guns to Ukraine to be used in war, the semi auto guns used for sports shooting and hunting will be sent to a foreign country to be used to kill people. The new list has banned basically semi-auto gun except for the SKS.

They included the GSG 15 and GSG 16 on the list which are common fun .22 rifles which are obviously not built for war, but they look cool so they are banned, same with the Kriss Vector .22 variants. They are claiming that these plinkers will be used in war. People who legally own these guns and have been using them up until today for this surprise announcement cannot use them anymore and they are basically paperweights until this is overturned.

Meanwhile criminals are going around shooting people in broad daylight and its extremely easy to get guns illegally, which the government is doing nothing about. Fucking insanity from the people in charge once again destroying businesses and seizing property to make it look lik they are doing something to people who don't know any better. People with firearms licenses are less likely to commit crimes than any other group because they can lose their guns and property if they do anything so going after them instead of people who are the problem is obviously fucking retarded. (But they are a smaller section of the population and they don't care if they will never vote Liberal ever again)


You can skip to any time in this announcement and come across something insane or embarrassing.

The problem with your reasoning here is that it assumes that Trudeau is a rational actor when he is the farthest thing from one. He is a delusional narcissist with a messianic complex who operates under the belief that the vast majority of the country loves him and that his critics constitute a fringe minority. If something goes horribly wrong it is always someone else's fault. Nine years into his premiership and he is still blaming the Harper government on his myriad failures. Inflation is (supposedly) and global issue that he (again, supposedly) has no control over how it affects the nation and the few brain-rotted followers he has blame provincial premiers when most of our issues stem from unchecked immigration, which is a FEDERAL responsibility.

Trudeau may use Trump as a boogeyman to strengthen his position with his shrinking base, but many Canadians know that he is not negotiating from a position of strength. Indeed, the Orange Man's threats of 25% tariffs scared the government shitless so Trudy flew down to Mar-A-Lago to grovel at the president-elect's feet. Trump does not respect Trudeau because the le petit dauphin is two-faced and weak despite his bluster. He is definitely not the right man (and I use that term extremely loosely) to represent Canada's interests and the individual provinces may as well cut their own deals with the Americans because Ottawa is utterly inept and delusional.

The Liberals' terrible polls are in large part due to Trudeau's immense unpopularity. His personal brand is so inextricably linked to the party that there is no way to separate them before the next election. Even the gibs he hands out are no longer sufficient to stop the hemorrhaging. Recent polls indicate that the GST holiday and $250 handout failed to help the party's fortunes. Many Canadians see this as a cynical vote-buying tactic when everything is getting steadily worse due to a decade of poor LPC policy.

All Trudeau has is "better the devil you know", which may have worked in 2019 and 2021, but things have progressed to the point where Canadians are willing to roll the dice to get rid of him. Of course, Trudeau doesn't see this because he is a psychotic man-child obsessed with Taylor Swift and flirting with teenage girls.

Canada's inflation is part of the reason why I stocked up on precious metals as of recently. I consider this better insurance because I don't trust the banks. Especially with Trudeau freezing people's bank accounts after the convoy. Canada isn't Australia levels of bad yet but I fear it might one day. I made it my goal to try and get out of Canada before shit really hits the fan. But I really don't want to leave my relatives behind.

Inflation can be fixed.

Governments can change.

Political policies can be reversed.

My problem with Canada isn't the 'temporary' stuff (although much of it probably isn't at this point), but it was me losing faith in the Canadian population and political class.

Government isn't the problem so much, insofar as what government effectively did and has done in Canada since covid was govern by popularity poll. I mean that quite literally, in that politicians will poll the average citizen, and depending on whats more popular at the time, change policy based on that.

While this may sound more democratic in some sense, its turned the nation feckless, into mob control, and given an illusion of democracy that I just don't feel is there.

You hype a bunch of people up about covid, terrify them, make them feel like its the end of the world, and then poll then asking 'Do you want mandates now???' and its just so disingenuous.

You manipulate the people and add in more fear mongering about how anyone who opposes X is an American agent, or far right, or what have you, and they gulp it down and give you the powers to suppress them.

Its a horrid feedback loop and I saw it first hand during covid, and its why I left. Nothing good comes from political systems like that.

I do genuinely think that things could get better under good circumstances, (will they though is another issue)-

But I just have zero faith in the Canadian people. Sure, theres some based people online in occasion, sure some people on reddit are angry at jeets currently and politicians currently;

But all this was only after the fact. Only after things had gotten so bad and has undeniably (and I'd really emphasize that word) had an impact on the average Canadian.

I don't have faith in the same Canadian populace that enthusiastically embraced and cheered on the covid regulations, that was completely unreflective on immigration, thats gobbled down TDS so enthusiastically to actually learn from this. The best you usually get is "well I voted for multiculturalism and the liberals and immigration is our strength, blablabla, but I DIDNT VOTE FOR INDIANS TO RAPE ME, WHO SAW THIS COMING".

For such a people, we may, or may not fix things temporarily- but whats to say that we won't wind up in a similar mess again in 5 years, in a decade, in 2, etc.

I'm just not into that, and I said it at one point during covid as well. Have fun, but I don't really want to be around when we goosestep or sleepwalk into the next crisis, as both actions often seem to go hand-in-hand in this nation. I'm almost just reminded of both the pathology that enabled both the nazis and maoists in this nation, just with whatever liberal woke mindset we have today. You'd hope that people who apparently love democracy would resist the eroding of your rights, but instead they cheered it on. I ramble and its a bit redddit-autistic, but its like the end of Star Wars Episode III. Democracy dies not quietly, but with applause.

If you want a reason to leave, its that. We didn't lose our country. Retards gave it away.

You're never sending the jeets, and other parasites, back. Mind you, this isn't endemic of Canada alone, I don't think mass deportations are feasible in any Western country today.

Ignoring the massive legal obstacles put in place to prevent such a thing happening, and even if the executive wanted to do it, and had the population behind it, the eternal bureaucrats and apparatchiks would obstruct and sabotage them at every turn, forcing the administration to waste all their capital fighting them, leaving them with no resources to tackle any other campaign promises, thus angering the voters, and ensuring they don't win the next election.

And this is only if the population was supports deportations - the first time the media bombards them with images of crying brown children and inundates the airwaves with sob stories about what will happen to these families if they are thrown out, the thin majority will crumble.

Also, good luck stripping these parasites and their anchor babies of their citizenship.

immigration repatriations were commonplace in the early 20th century. the authorities used a combination of carrots and sticks to get people to leave voluntarily. the canadian government could probably pay miserable indians to fuck off but that would be an implicit tell their immigration policy is a huge failure.

I wish the Wild Rose Party was still around.

Honestly I think it may be best if we have time to get a Trump inspired party just before the elections. Call it the New Progressive Party who's entire schtick is being a 90's Democrat with sane immigration and housing policies, and a stance on minorities of getting them to meet the same expectations as everyone else instead of being coddled as children.

The gun stuff is pretty funny. It’s so incredibly stupid. It might drive gun stores out of business depending on how much debt they are carrying, lean operations will sit on their inventory and hunker down until October.

The idea that the federal government will be kicking down doors is, again, laughable.

I am in the place that Trudeau wants to disarm more than any place on earth (rural Alberta) and the casual irl fedposting is getting to be breathtaking. The 5 man RCMP detachment that covers 3500 square kms barely steps out of the office anymore, 2 of them are fat old broads.

With the deteriorating economy, there are even more people barely hanging on, or actively slipping below the waves. They are just looking for an excuse to take feds with them.

For the people saying PP won’t roll it back, Harper eliminated the long gun registry when he didn’t have to as a boon to his base, and didn’t pay a political price. Even a cowardly con has the precedent, and this would be easy to do.

Again, the idea that pajeets are walking around city streets in broad daylight carrying firearms with no opposition, so they are cracking down on farmers and hunters: I don’t see this gaining LPC any voters when it doesn’t solve any problems. And claiming to send confiscated .22s to the front lines of Ukraine? My sides.

I hope they all get turbo cancer.
