2024 Syrian opposition offensives - The first Syrian rebel offensive against Government forces since March 2020

middle east spectator is he a pro Assad account or just a retard?
He's an Assad fellator so he's naturally retarded
Radio silence so far today... we can always hope, Inshallah.

Assad's forces are fleeing Deir Al-Zor, Raqqa, Daraa, etc. Everything is being pulled back to Damascus. Also, @Feline Supremacist, what the hell is an "oomfie"? I don't speak Zigger.

Biker rebels are the best and most aesthetic

For those who aren't used to the Russian military, you're seeing an attack helicopter launch unguided missiles in indirect fire mode. Like rocket artillery, but 100 times more expensive.
An ~33% less effective as it's an 80mm rocket vs a 122mm rocket.....

So a total waste of an attack helicopter's capabilities
The Russian chair force tried to bomb that big bridge over the Orontes for the second time in two days

Missed for the second time in two days

Bridge is still there doesn't even look like it took cosmetic damage :story:

But they've totally killed nine gorillion terrorists from the air in the last month, it's Joever for the jihadis
The RuAF is still stuck in late 1960s USAF bombing accuracy lol.... In 2024

For more fun, Clash Report has been having a field day, oh and Russia and Belarus has told their people to evacuate Syria (THEY'RE TOTALLY GOING TO SAVE ASSAD GUIZ"

I don't think the rebels agree on much besides that Assad and his cronies has to go.
What comes out of this will definitely be a cluster fuck. The Russiaboos are 100% correct on this front. It is however an open question as to whether or not Syria becomes a failed State like Somalia or Libya. There is a very good chance of this. But Assad, Russia and Iran only have themselves to blame.

To use the Rhetoric of the Russians, the incessant provocation by the Syrians, Russians and Iranians against the Western sphere and security red lines have provoked this outcome. It's their fault this happened.

Have you not read any segment of the thread where the leader of the HTS has been telling everyone to ignore the Christians, admonished some rebels for knocking down a Christmas tree, and ensuring the churches were allowed to stay open so worshippers could participate in a holy day?

This Julani guy appears to be smart. I say that because he’s recognizing that it’s a multicultural world, and to get bogged down in attacking his own people because they’re different would impede on the goal of taking the country. As it stands he has shown no intent to harm any Syrian who doesn’t stand in their way, even cutting deals to regime police and services who surrender to let them retain their jobs, pensions and positions into the new state. They have QR codes posted to allow citizens to get in touch with the community and local civil services being put up. This isn’t the playbook of terrorists marching across the country. It’s the actions of a force that want to commit legitimate change.

I’m willing to say wait and see on this. If Syria of all places manages to be the first modernized Islamic State who knows what other change might come about. The old generation of mujahideen are aging out, and now you’ve got these younger guys that are more aware of the modern world.
Don't forget that its been decades since a bunch of Muslim countries decided to become good friends with the West. Let's look at how Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Kuwait are doing compared to everyone else.

What's that, they're relatively stable, get tons of aid, and the West looks the other way at authoritarian rule so long as it doesn't start causing problems? Meanwhile out of everyone in the MidEast who decided to annoy the West Assad is the last one standing. Ghadaffi is gone, Hussein is gone, ISIS got blown up by airstrikes, and Russia and Iran are not exactly proving themselves to be strong, reliable allies. Might as well take the money and tell the hardliners its jizya, and that the liberal reforms are all just taqqiya to ensure the jizya keeps flowing. And that any further disagreements can be directed to the CIA anti-terror hit squad on speed dial.

EDIT:

Looks like Israel's already decided to start taking steps in case anyone decides to cause problems during the chaos.

Also, shit's fucked in Syria now.

Don't worry guys. The Lion of Damascus is playing 7D Chess with those pesky rebels and is luring them into a trap that will go down in history books as one of the greatest military deceptions of all time!

Why do people embarrass themselves like this

Yes for my amusement but not literally

The Syrian army is only pretending to be retarded. Any moment now they will force the rebels into a cauldron with 99% casualties.
I don't know why this wasn't posted before but the Syrian rebels found photos in one of Assad's palaces:

There’s also Taiwan compared to mainland China or South Korea compared to Best Korea.

You'd think that if it was a trap they'd at least have their forces fight a somewhat serious delaying action to force the rebels to bunch up and regroup as you redeploy. As it stands they're going to somehow outmaneuver and retake Hama from which direction and with which forces?

So many idiots keep forgetting that this is the era of 24/7 satellite surveillance. Any large body of men and/or materiel will be posted up on Twitter for everyone to see, including your opposition forces, and your only hope of a surprise attack is to make them seem under-equipped and un-ready. But I suppose Assad could always surprise us with an army of mole-men popping out of concealed tunnels like the GLA.

It’s weird to me this thread is suddenly so pro-regime change. None of these toppled dictatorships have become anything except refugee sources for the west.
Those posters in this thread want that. if this were a Libya thread they'd be cheering on the killing of Gadafi. Its all about the Sunni/Israel interest group vs the Russia/Shia group. Western countries don't actually matter, theyre golems to this procress since 9/11

The reason Arab armies perform so poorly is because in Arab societies west of the Indus river the best warriors and fighters tend to join militant orders like the ones currently fighting in Syria. Those are the people who specifically choose a life of fighting and dying for something greater than themselves where as the men who join government militaries are mostly there for self serving reasons like a paycheck, which isn't worth anything if you're dead.
