as far as I know, there's no mass migration
Masses of foreigners are invading Japan and yet there somehow is no mass migration. Mass migration also means other east/south asian countries like India (japan officially invited pajeets in September 24), Vietnam and so on (they have huge problems with vietnamese organized crime) and now it's internet personalities invading the country and also more streamers doing stupid shit there (this includes Japan hating chinks and monsters like Johnny Somali).
You can get a house outside the major cities for a few grand
The reason the houses are so cheap is because they are falling apart and need renovation. You also should learn about your neighboorhood first before buying a house in Japan because community is everything. It even dictates in which way your house can be renovated and there are rules made up by community leaders you have to conform.
If you think you can just move to Japan and behave and think like you did in the West, you will have a horrible time there and make the japanese hate foreigners even more. And if you move to a small town or even rural area the pressure to conform and the xenophobia is even more extreme.
Of course you can stay in your expat community and mostly talk to other foreigners until the day you croak, but you still have to deal with japanese society in your everyday life.

This is a very harsh example but similar shit is normal even if it's not that extreme. But again, you still have to conform.
