There is a very good reason UnitedHealth was targeted and not one of the other half a dozen insurers in the USA. They have the highest denial rate in the country, literally double the industry average and the worst of all the big insurers.

The problem isn't that UH was and is making money. It's that they are running a scam on people by offering a service and never delivering it. This is why most people on the right are laughing about it because fucker had it coming.

I know people theorize the shooter might have personally been fucked over by UH, but it seems more likely he just carefully weighed and selected an optimal target.

Lots of people fantasize about planning a hit for the “right reasons”. If that was the case here, he chose very wisely.

Killing people is not the appropriate way to settle differences in a civilized society, but you said it: this is a company that is responsible for denying coverage for countless people, and has been legally prosecuted for fucking people on their claims as well. Sorry but they aren't entitled to pay for everything. Health insurance is a business they didn't say they wouldn't provide surgeries or care they just said they won't pay for some of it. Nobody is stopping these people from getting their care.
