Ashens - An Excellent Thread

I like ashens but sometimes he can be a bit to dry. I dunno if it's just him doing it so long but when watching newer stuff I find my self just skipping around videos because he has so little to say. Still him and his brown couch has a special place in my heart. My favorite is the whole chicken can video.
Just saw that it was uploaded 10 years ago and was genuinely shocked, I'm tired of videos I saw new being a decade old. Hell just the fact that the lootbox fad is over a decade old is fucking with my perception of time.

I used to actively watch his channel but the toy review (the figures, not the electronics) caused me to unsub. Liked the junk food reviews, though.

I've been watching him for at least 10 years, and honestly he's one of the few content creators of that period I still watch. As a boring as fuck irl man in the UK, I enjoy seeing Poundshop product reviews.

No screaming faggots. No drama. No degenerates on blast. Just good wholesome pound shop product reviews.

Been subbed since the PC by post video. Back in those days when he started as "Dr" Ashens.

I always had mad respect for the fact he put in all the work to earn a doctorate in psychology, but dropped it all to chase a youtube dream. Also he's managed to keep out of drama and shit for all these years, where most creators just can't help themselves.

So yeah, very switched on, knowledgeable dude and a class act all around (looking forward to the Barshens comeback).

His content has dropped off my radar, but his first movie made wih no budget and for free, puts him miles above AVGN. It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible. I'll forgive his appearance in the Jim Sterling video, as this was before Jim totally trooned out.
I'm still subbed, but I can't remember the last time I watched a vidio of him.

I'm going to be less generous and say that I think arguably, Ashens deserves a lolcow thread.

He seems to me like a weird holdover from a time in the mid 2000s/early 2010s when you could make good money on the Internet simply by being in somewhat nerd-adjacent online spheres and having a British accent (which seemed to grant you a strange sort of reverence from Americans online, back in the day, as if the things you said were somehow a lot funnier and smarter than what you actually said, simply because you said them in a British accent). Similarly, I, personally, have always got a sense that Ashens thinks he's a lot funnier than he actually is.

Nevar 5get that Ashens was all too happy to drop to his knees and suck on Jim Sterling's girlcock to the balls not once, but twice.





Also, his couch is grubby and I would not have sex on it.

I kind of want to see him make something that's unrelated to his tat career again because I genuinely like his dry humour.
If "the ashens computer game" is ever to be a thing*, I'd wish it was just something original with his humour.
Maybe something actually on Amiga or Atari ST.
*not that it's been proposed or anything, just a random thought
 
It's hard to fathom that anyone can consider themselves a friend of Jim Sterling. I don't know what they find more endearing: the condescending attitude, the conspicuous consumption, the digging for compliments, or perhaps the sheer beauty of an adult male wearing a corset in public.

Nerdcubed is more deserving of a thread than fucking Ashens, who doesnt have much of an internet prescence to fuck with as opposed to Dan's social media addiction and constant controversies with shilling for Just Cause 4 and Saints Row reboot

The sheer consistency and simplicity in how he presents his videos is incredible. You can watch a video from like 2015 and it'll still feel like it was made recently.

Absolutely. To this day those are still some of the best videos on his channel. That chicken in a can video is the stuff of nightmares though.
