Lol we didn't lose against "Canadians" we lost against pissed off British residing in what is now Canada.

These days we could probably overtake the entire country of Canada with the national guard units of a single large state. Is it worth it, though? Probably not, just nuke em.
Please also conveniently forget that Thomas Jefferson had dismantled the military during his presidency, which is why the war of 1812 was so devastating. We simply didn’t have the manpower or guns to properly battle the British

I’d say his legacy was dead the second Trump got in.

What’s he remembered for by most people? Being black.

I think that’s why he is mad. He’s realised he was a token black all along.

The fact that this happened a few months before Trump won solidified his tarnished reputation and permanently crushed his ego

The notion of a standing army being unpopular was still around back then so that must be considered as well. The early USA also relied heavily on militia in the conflict which was somewhat of a mistake. It probably didn't help that some anti-war politicians from New England wanted their region to secede.

The United States in its modern state with its more centralized federal government and professional military would have very little of the issues in fighting a war the fledgling republic had.

Romania had courts come up with a excuse to annul the results. Very democratic.

If you wanna copy anything from Romania, how about 1989?
The idea of annulling an election is so sinister to me. The wrong guy won, so we're going to make up excuses and pretend the other guy won instead. You can't call a country that does that a democracy.

This is the "Don't rock the boat. " mindset.

When you have shitty coworkers who don't do their fucking jobs, anybody who is competent is a threat. You will raise the high water line and wash them away with your competence.

These people are a fucking cancer. I'm currently working at an ambulance service like this. It is vastly easier than other services I've worked at and somehow the people complain like it's the worst job they've ever had. They're in for a rude awakening if management ever wakes up.

We have a section crew like that. The foreman is so goddamned lazy it contaminates anyone who works on his crew. Those fuckers work harder dodging work than they would if they'd just do it and be done. They always bitch when they get called in or have to stay late to fix something on a Friday night because they didn't do it earlier acting like it's the worst job on the planet, and all they'd have to do to avoid that situation is their fucking jobs.

I wish we had a DOGE, that whole crew would be fired. They're lucky we're union and the company can't fire their worthless slacking asses. They make all of us look bad since they're always behind on scheduled work and are constantly having to band-aid shit to get by for a weekend.

I would've figured it would be more like the game is DRM locked/encrypted so that only your private key can be used to play it
Not how the key works in crypto, I'll give a super simple TL;DR for you and the lurkers

A public/private key pair is when you have two sets of numbers, that work together in a special way. A message encrypted using one key, can only be decrypted by using the opposite key. Putting the public key out and saying "This is me", as the name "public" implies, lets anyone encode anything and ensure that *only* you can see it, as your private key should only be available to you. In reverse, anything you encode with the private key, and put out into the public, can be decoded by anyone using the public key, and guarantees that whoever sent that message was the person who has the key. You don't actually have to know that it is a specific person, its just a validation method that itself requires no trust between parties.

In Crypto uses, your "public" key is the wallet address, and your private key is the thing you keep safe to 'post' transactions to the wallet. Any transaction added to the chain for a wallet, that can be decrypted into a valid transaction using the public key, can be confirmed to be coming from the wallet holder. This is how you make sure nobody else can say "Dave gave me all his bitcoin". This is also why you can just go and make a wallet and not have any problems or have to pay any fees, the chain doesn't have to know about or authenticate anything, a new public key appearing is just another data point to validate with transactions.

The only way to use that public/private key in the way you describe, would be to create a custom encrypted version of the game for each public key out there that holds a token for the game, and then require you to decode it all locally to play - After you download it from them, providing a failure point already. The problem is, once you've decoded it, you have the full unencrypted files, and there's nothing they can do to stop it. Even if you lose your token, the files are already decrypted. Any solution requiring the files to stay on their server means your not in control of the asset, so you're not actually using crypto for ownership, and they can change their mind and revoke the token anytime. Any solution involving regular refresh of a controlled file or indicator requires them to constantly reencode and you to constantly decode this file, and again means the moment they stop bothering to refresh it, it stops working.

Crypto as it exists doesn't have a good solution to this, because we can't trust these companies and services.

So the idea is "if you look black, you're black". Probably also why people think Slavs are white.
I associate all of the negative things about black people with Obama, and none of the negative things about white people with him. Therefore, he's black.

How did I miss this?

I said it before and I will say it again: Obama is the reason we got Trump. His judges, his bureaucrats, his policies, his comments, his bullshit, and his continued presence in American politics long after he was supposed to ride off into the sunset. It is entirely his fault.

He is the one who got the media to sit in daddy's lap, drink his chocolate milk, and never question a single fucking thing that he did. He is the one who made sure that anyone who did question him was a racist, a bigot, a bitter clinger, and the dumbest part is that this could all be forgiven if he could take a joke - but he can't. Any criticism or mockery is verboten. At the end of the day, Obama is a man who takes himself too fucking seriously. Everything about him is a carefully crafted image that now plays as a farce. He enjoyed the obsequious flattery of historians, scientists, journalists, authors, diplomats, Hollywood, mass media, and turtles all the way down. He could have rested on his laurels, but it just wasn't enough for him. Now the end result is his legacy coming undone because of some trash-talking New Yorker with a bad spray tan.
