UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson fatally shot outside Hilton hotel in Midtown in targeted attack: cops - Just Part and Parcel of visiting a Big City

I don’t think you understand what a psychopath is.
A person driven by horrific injustice isn't a psychopath - they are normal people pushed to extremis. No CEO is in extremis. They are
the cool, calm center of their own universe, where they are thriving. They are the most successful people on the planet, and that's not
an accident, or a coincidence.

Im quite surprised this never happened to them or even an attempt. The opioid crisis affected a ton of people across all demographics and the Sackler clan were pretty prominent NYC socialites before they had to fuck off to sunny South Florida.
How do we know it didn't?

Would we even be hearing about this if it had happened outside his home in Mn.?

Nothing is scarier to the people in power than the possibility of a stand alone complex spreading, with people doing things alone without any connection.
This is both true and also not true.

Because the much, much scarier thing than people doing things alone without any connection is people doing things together with connections but their actions being divorced from the status quo or disconnected from the rules that govern everyone else.

That's some dark comedy right there.

Fucks sake they are still stuck on the motherfucking Welrod meme!

This guy is walking. NYPD is throwing the case, they have to.
Just keep in mind this is the New York Times reporting this shit - the same people who said the killer left bullets with only two words (conveniently ignoring the "depose" word). They have since started including "depose" again. The NYtimes is a highly divisive news outlet, so I'm not sure how much I would treat their word as gospel.

In any case I hope people don't mind me sharing updates/new articles/tweets as I find them - some of them may be dumb, incorrect, retarded and that doesn't mean I agree with them at all. Just trying to keep people in the thread updated so that the conversation stays up to date.

Oh, and let me tell you, when the black swan event does happen? My ass will be staying home from work. Like forever. New career time.
I mean this killing very much seems like a Black Swan event given how it is defined:

With the way companies and CEOs are already scrambling (it has only been 3 days) and some CEO is trying to get his wikipedia page deleted - I think this is going to be a moment in history of equivalent importance to the Tiannemen square dude.

And I said as much several pages ago and at least some people rated me optimistic lol

It occurred to me that now that the illusion of immunity has been broken, it won't take long until more than a few insurance denials start to take on a fairly similar script: angry people will start making overt or veiled threats towards the CEOs and other officers of companies, probably directly referencing the shooting. "You're denying my daughter's claim?! She's only 12! You can tell the CEO I'm going to be coming 'round for a little talk when he least expects it." Of course, direct threats will be relayed to police, but it will still impact the mental well-being and day-to-day life of the execs in these firms.
"Sir, another code black today."
"What was it this time?"
"Claim denial on 12 year old female. Father issued a threat towards you to a customer service rep over the phone. PD have been informed, but we still think you should adjust your schedule over the next 2 weeks, as per policy."
"The fuck I will. It's beach-house time! Everyone knows I'm going on my holiday."
"Socials indicate the father is ex-military, served in Afghanistan, and Facebook shows that he's a recreational shooter. AR-15s and pistols. We recommend you adhere to policy."
"I cannot miss the beach-house holiday. Hilary's RSVP'd as a yes. Fine, fuck it. Approve all the child's claims, I don't care the cost! Send our apologies, say it was an internal system error. Tell the police not to press charges, and get the media team on it to make a feel-good news story."
"Yes, sir."
"I swear to fucking god, I'm sick of my life being turned upside down by these people! It's been happening since that stupid cunt Brian got shot."
"Sir, don't forget Jorge and Susan."
"Oh, yeah. And Bill, and Elizabeth."
"And Jenny."
"Oh, and ..." (etc)

Internet sleuths stand literally no chance.

NYPD has stated that their "gotcha" moment was that single grainy photo of him smiling with his mask down (which he own did because the chick at the hostel was flirting with him). To get that single frame they apparently have been through hundreds and hundreds of hours of CCTV footage.

The guy basically went everywhere with a mask completely obscuring his face.

Outside of DNA, fingerprints or some "miracle" evidence coming up this guy is a ghost - he entered the city on a bus, stayed in a hostel, avoided CCTV, shot a CEO in broad daylight, went through central park, ditched his backpack and left the city on a bus once again.

No one on the internet is going to be able to "turbodox" a guy that is a literal ghost. Unless he does some like online video statement or something like that, then the chances anyone catches him (besides the police) at this point are reducing by the minute. He is already long gone from NYC. Every lead the police had (they thought he used an obscure gun) have brought up nothing.
It is why it is so impressive and has left a cultural moment.
People expect too much out of fingerprints, DNA and other forensic evidence. Studies have been done over the cop and court shows. They has been a trend from these shows over the years that the general public think such evidence is basically magic, and put people away on it alone.
Just walking down your home street has at least put the DNA of 60 people on the bottom of your shoe. Never mind hair and skin samples and finger prints. Even his face picture is too none distinct. He is a nice looking white dude from out of city. They would be interviewing every white male from 20-30 in the country and still not find him. His DNA/finger prints have to be in the system to get matches. So if he has been a good boy all his life and broke bad over this insurance CEOs policy killing his mother or something like that. They have shit all to go on.
The fact that they also admitted he has got out of the city also means he is clearly out of the state by now. That buys him weeks of time. Years even. They are looking for a "white male about 5.9 in good shape travelling on a bus out of NYC" Needle in a haystack.
He has had time to dye his hair, give himself a face scar/grow out his facial hair. To beat suspicion i would sit down and eat 600 burgers for 2 weeks and gain 50lbs. While reading the updates on how the NYPD are ripping their hair out trying to find him.
He clearly does not want to be an attention whore chucking up video manifestos explaining why he did it. My wish would be an autistic as fuck youtube video we could watch. But from his actions it seems like he wants to be a ghost. He dropped what he wanted to say along with the CEO.
In any case I hope people don't mind me sharing updates/new articles/tweets as I find them
All updates are updates until another update invalidates the update. Just post what you can. Nobody is going to sperg at you for reporting what journoscum say.

It's interesting how bigger of a story this has turned into compared that that Cash App guy (Bob Lee) that got stabbed to death in San Francisco. People hate Tech Bros like him in general, but there is a real wide spread 'this one had it coming' in this case.

Keep in mind that him staying anonymous only adds to his more allure and mystery and romance and increases the notoriety of this event. Like the Satoshi Nakamoto dude for Bitcoin - it has been like 15 years and people still have all sorts of conspiracy theories about their identity.

You know what sucks? CEOs and other malevolent C-suite types will use this as justification to demand even more extravagant compensation. Dangerous line of work apparently, gotta get the hazard pay on top of salary, bonus and stocks.

At any rate I hope the gunman is shacked up with a harem of his crazy fangirls.

Bob Lee's case was discussed quite a bit from what I saw. But people knew drugs were involved quite early on and because it was a stabbing it didn't have the same level of interest as this - a guy on CCTV with a silenced pistol and dropping bullets with a very clear ideological statement written on them is much more interesting than some faggy CashApp CEO.
The health insurance industry as a whole is way more exploitive than Cashapp and most software companies can ever hope to be.

Him pulling down his mask to flirt before going and killing a CEO deserves to go down as either the dumbest or ballsiest thing.

So I wonder what this guy’s plan is now? Live his life outside the US? If there is a bizarre movie storyline going on here he had a terminal illness; got denied treatment and then just decided to make preparations and roll the dice.

Feel like a lot of those deeply affected would be relatively poor and without the resources to afford stuff like a gun or ability to travel to hunt down someone.

There's a reason a lot of terrorist activity is done by more middle class people from comfortable backgrounds.
