How are you doing? - Kiwi Farms Wellness Check

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Still feeling good from yesterday. Big boss called me and the other person I work with on our specific tasks in last week and asked what needed to change. I went off for half an hour about the "supervision" above us. They don't know what we do, I'm not sure why they're even here, and they only exist to get in our way. Yesterday he came down and gave them a public PP smacking. They're no longer allowed to interact with us, and if they truly need anything from us (they don't) then they need to go through him in the future. It was nice. We got through what was taking 6 hours because of them in 2 and a half hours.

Not too bad, finally finished the nursery for the impending baby so she’s actually got a full comfy decorated room when she arrives.

Congratulations!!! Does your nursery have a theme? I need to start furnishing mine ❤️

_____

My day just started but it's already good for a few reasons:

1. It's Friday, therefore I can wear jeans to work.

2. My new skirt is coming in the mail today.

3. The avocado I used for my lunch today had a tiny seed, beautiful green flesh and was so easy to cut with my new kitchen knives.

Congrats to you too! Hoping your little human-to-be is doing well :)

We’re doing a pokemon themed nursery, as nerdy as it might sound-it was the first thing my husband and I bonded over as teens so we decided to extend the love to our little one and we’ve hidden some tiny painted pokemon on the nursery walls for her to find as she grows.

Congrats on landing a job. Not only will you get used to it, you'll start waking up at 5:30 on your days off.
Waking up at 5:30 on your days off without an alarm, waking up 4 minutes before your alarm goes off on workdays. I don't mind waking up early on my days off anymore, I've just started making coffee and sitting on my back porch.

Have had a sinus infection for two months. First run of antibiotics did nothing. Have been prescribed both clindamycin and cefdinir, and I'm fucking scared to death to take this stuff. Really scared of side effects. (:_(
Get your teeth x-rayed. You may just have a root infection especially if it's more on one side of face.
Also wash/change your pillows or at least put a fresh towel over them. Pillows get moldy inside.

Thank you, I'm not currently pregnant but I'm preparing. I'm hoping to start my family within the next two years

That is so cute 🥰
We're doing an ocean themed nursery, with a focus on whales, jelly fish, seals and kelp. I'm so excited!
Awh, that sounds so lovely!

Hoping your baby journey goes smoothly when it happens, and that it goes well. Pregnancy’s not always an easy ride but it’s definitely a rewarding one and the joy of getting to meet my little girl’s outweighing all of the stresses currently. Not going to say it’s sunshine and rainbows, but it’s genuinely a blessing in my case and the next two months or so are going to be equal parts scary, thrilling and joyful!

Stress got to me and I snapped at a co-worker that kept interrupting me. Dude had the gall to be all offended about it afterwards. Guy proceeded to call the supervisor and explained she was "going to talk to us" with a big shit-eating grin on his face. Got shocked when the super only spoke to him, then quietly pulled me aside and got my side of things. Judging from his expression, that wasn't how he expected things to pan out. She's going to let us cool down over the weekend then talk to us about it, so that's nice.

I've got a couple interviews starting next week, including a relocating one that seems too good to be true, but the local ones I'm glad to check out and see if one bites. I think my plan for the future is to get in one, sharpen my knowledge even more, then finally relocate after some more work experience since I'm feeling pretty confident in my work skills suddenly. I'm ready to find an area I'd like to finally live in, lock down some nice people for regular life, and finally be boring and content as I get older.

So earlier in the week I noticed that a crown I have after I got a root canal a while back was coming loose. I called my dentist about it and they told me it probably wasn't a big deal and they can't get me scheduled until next month. Thursday night it started hurting like a motherfucker. Excruciating. I got a few hours of sleep and when I woke up this morning it didn't hurt nearly as bad but it was still really tender and I wanted to get it checked out. This is when I realized that my dentist's office is closed on Fridays for fuck knows what reason.

So I started calling around to random offices in town and after the third one told me the earliest I can get in would be next week I finally found one who was willing to see me that day. Half an hour drive. Awesome.

So I get there and he looks at it and takes X-rays and tells me the bit of tooth left behind after the root canal has rotted out and that's why the crown is loose. Awesome. It probably has nothing to do with this.

Apparently I need to get it pulled ASAP because it could become severely infected and potentially kill me. $1,000 out of pocket because I don't have dental insurance. Then another $1,700 for an implant if I want it.

He gave me a scrip for amoxicillin just in case and some heavy duty aspirin if it starts hurting again.

Ready for the most awesome part? I woke up from a nap late this afternoon with a relatively fuckhuge, pus filled abscess on the inside of my gums. It's like a water balloon I can play around with using my tongue. And by the time I realized it was there the office was closed.

There's one of those Aspen Dental chains in my town that's open on Saturdays so I might call them first thing in the morning and see if they can drain it. It has horrible reviews on Google though, so I honestly might be better off just popping it myself and taking the antibiotics the guy gave me.

If I suddenly stop posting just know I died from an infected tooth. Please don't laugh too hard.

I feel your pain, well, not literally, not this time at least.
In the past few months I've lost 2 crowns(out of 3). One cracked, no root canal was done but there was some decay where it broke, unsure if it had been cracked and caused decay or decay caused the crack. Either way that one was a 'simple' new crown. The other one had a root canal after it was infected while I was traveling and got home and the dentist said "I don't usually do root canals in the office, but lean back and let's get this done." Anyway, that crown came off totally, had been replaced once before and there wasn't enough left to do it again. So they extracted it and started the bone graft. They're checking in a couple weeks to see what they think the schedule for the implant will be.

So, good luck. Dental work sucks but the alternative is so much worse. (And this is why I now get cleanings every 4-5 months to see if they can catch problems early and avoid any more crowns.)
