My hunch is they already know exactly who did it, and they realize the PR will be horrific... was it his child UHC refused care to? A veteran? Who was it?

Its gonna look BAD in any case.

If they "can't find" this guy in a city full of surveillance, they might have decided its not worth the bad press for the medical-insurance industry and they are cutting their losses.

I’m going for ultimate comedy option where Brian hired his own hit man to make his company look bad and get away from his ugly wife and kids.

It’s called GEDMatch, or now GenBank. The public dna companies got very touchy about LE using data to find killers and locked down public accessible data, they let you do big data but not data linked to individual’s name.

You don’t seem to understand how time consuming forensic/ genealogy tracing via a public database. Even when you get a “hit” to relatives it’s weeks or months of research to try and narrow down the connection to who the individual, involving creating family trees, checking marriage records, possible illegitimate births, reading obits, etc… It’s a process that takes weeks at best, months at worst, once it starts. It’s usually done on cold cases because it’s a slow, tedious process done by people who specialize in this type of research.

The most they hope for with any DNA they get right now is they could use it to compare to a possible suspect they might get.

Sure he did, that why he had an absolutely elegant getaway route, wore a mask everywhere and used a cumbersome DIY silencer. He planned this with the knowledge he could get away if he executed his plan correctly.

Dude was almost at the port authority before cops were on the scene. He was on a bus to NJ or Maine (probably) before cops even knew who their victim was. By the time the media was blowing up the story he was hundred plus miles from NYC reading the media coverage on a burner phone. He probably had safe house all ready and after 72 plus hours I think he’s made it to it. Maybe there are even a few close friends that helped waiting at the house, if so they’ve had one hell of a celebration when he got in the door.

He did this because he knew he could get away if he was smart about it. It would have been easy to kill Thompson back home in MN, but he chose midtown Manhattan for specific reasons most probably the insane data network traffic, media anttention and great public transportation options!

This by the way is one theory that is getting thrown around a fair bit (minus the ugly wife and kids part). It seems at least plausible when you consider he went silent on LinkedIn more than a year ago and was probably getting harangued by people chemo-posting at him about their dead/dying relatives and maybe came to realize he was a terrible person in a terrible industry doing terrible things.

Still probably pretty unlikely though.

The Iceman was pretty professional. His main failure was not having a steady supply of Cyanide. Dude did all kindsa crazy CIA type shit like attaching bombs to RC cars, shooting people through peepholes, and of course the ice truck. His main weapon was cyanide though. He'd just walk up to the target, spray cyanide in their face and pretend to sneeze at the same time, apoligize, then walk off.

It's kind of a hoot seeing Taylor getting raked over the coals for one of the few crazy things she says that is actually a pretty popular opinion even among normies.

Nah he took tons of precautions and knew exactly what he was doing. He was using shit like burner phones, paying shit in cash and kept his face masked the entire time he was there. The only way he could've done this any smarter/less riskier would've been to kill the guy from a distance (explosives/sniper rifle) but then he could've just done it at the guys actual house. He deliberately did it in the middle of NYC "to send a message" I guess.
