Regular units with Lancets significantly increase the combat capabilities of artillery regiments and artillery brigades of the Russian army, Dmitry Kornev, editor of the Military Russia portal, told Izvestia.

This is how the expert commented on the news that new reconnaissance and strike units equipped with Lancet loitering munitions have been formed in the artillery regiments and brigades of the Russian Armed Forces.

They are already being deployed in the SVO zone - they are destroying enemy guns, self-propelled artillery units (SAU) and multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS).

Dmitry Kornev recalled that in terms of range and a number of combat properties, the Lancet occupies an intermediate position between artillery and operational-tactical missile systems of the ground forces.

"Loitering munitions are good when used against artillery tactical missile systems and air defense systems. Depending on the modification, the range of the Lancets is up to 80 km. This allows them to reach and destroy enemy targets quite far in the rear. Counter-battery warfare is now one of the important components of combat. The defense of the Ukrainian forces largely depends on artillery. But the Lancet works well against armored vehicles, infantry concentrations, supply points, headquarters fortifications, air defense systems, and even against enemy UAV crews when drones are used. They destroy HIMARS and MLRS missile launchers well," he explained.

Russian men...watch out, America's women are coming for you!

Good news for the grunts!

The system is being tested and the company is gearing up for mass production.

One soldier could wear it in a storm detachment of 6-7 people and protect his comrades against drones. Given that Russians are increasingly switching to drones working with a fiber optic cable, this could make a real difference.

boy Trump really is pandering to the neocon spooks and all their talking points to get his way out of the middle east, and by 'out' i mean namely out of doing anything that doesnt directly protect Israel.

Playing tiddlywinks with insurgents from jihadists to kurds on Turkey's boarder to get rid of the final Ba'athists regime honestly makes it harder for Israel and the USA long term. Out of 'secular' dictators the Salafists, wahhabists Sunni whatever will be out of US-Approved rivals, and will have to go back to fighting their original enemies.

If they can produce this mass scale and deploy it in 3 months, this war will be over by summer.

Seems a bit bulky at the front, I doubt it's as hinder-free as they claim.

How does it "suppress" it, exactly? I'm confused.

wirelessly jams it, so the drone is unable to do final manoeuvres while targetting. Will help guys in the field by giving a lot more slack to juke the drone, won't help against stationary targets. Also will prob blind grenade droppers.

Its like a replay of the 1980s, but gayer and retarded.

Also seeing news stories from the Western press about how the jihadists have now embraced diversity and when you got CNN running puff pieces for the guy running HTS.

Can't get more blob glownigger funded than that.
