I've never understood why killers don't target organizations or the super influential rich, and instead kill kids and innocent people.

For the same reason there were a ton of serial killers from the 60s to the 90s. The media covered them day in day out constantly. The FBI straight up told the media to stop covering serial killers the way they were because it was encouraging copycats. Then Columbine happened and they do the exact same thing. That is of course if you believe serial killers weren't actually just covers for political assassinations, psyops, and trafficking.

I'll gladly swap out innocent kids dying for corpos getting zeroed any time.

IMO the "We have already identified him and the net is getting tighter around him" is just an intent to spook him, so he's more likely to make a mistake. They are betting on the shooter's narcissism and that he's reading everything the police (or everyone) says about him, and forcing him to do something reckless like move into a controlled checkpoint between countries/states. I give them a B for the effort, but it seems like a long shot for the investigation.

I refuse to believe this not only because it is funnier but I doubt someone could've sourced the same backpack in that timeframe and would be willing to risk potentially getting arrested. I'm pretty sure this would count as disruption of a police investigation but honestly not sure.

Anyway - what did people think would even be in the backpack to begin with? He knew his exit strategy well in advance so it only makes sense that there was nothing of importance in the backpack.

I've said it before. But it really is difficult for people to find stranger on stranger murder. They can talk about DNA and all that. But 90 percent of cases are solved by people willingly giving the police strings. Names, things they saw, people he worked with, places of employment.

You already know all that. If this is stranger on stranger violence and nobody will give the cops any names or place associated with the killer. Then they more than likely will never be able to manifest anything. Even if they have a whole bucket of evidence.

I find it so impressive that nobody has called this dude in yet.

Either he was a complete loner with no family. (Or sadly his family is now dead..... looking at you united health)

Or they are super fucking loyal. But not one single attention whoring little fuck has ratted him out? That's just beyond amazing.

I don't know but I suspected they were completely and carelessly spamming every shred of info they had on the guy to the news because they understand as well.
