I was just about to say the same thing, this is just 10 games he found by google searching "best game 2024". At this point, I would trust Salon or Vice with their top ten list, as they're just as relevant(or irrelevant, in this game)
BTW, even if we take this narrative at it's face value, 2 of the 10 games are fucking remaked(or demakes in this case) and one is a LEGO title. Let that sink in, they have to pad out the list with a game tailor made for little kids.

Just finished Awakening(again, I think, it's been a couple years). Even if they called it a full game it would still be better than Veilguard.

That game has everything on steroids. Archer warriors achieve their final form when they take up Spirit Warrior, although Rogue archers didn't fare too badly with the new dexterity-based buff skill. Dual-wield Rogues are on crack though, while Arcane Warriors can become offensive batteries with the Battlemage specialization. Everyone and everything become awesome and awesomer.

Agreed. If it's a pile of shit, how long it took to make such a pile of shit is rather irrelevant. In fact, one could say the longer it took to make a pile of shit, the worse it is, since they put all that effort in and just came away with a pile of shit. One could easily come away with an equivalent pile of shit that took 1/10th as long and used 1/20th the budget.

Remedy has announced during its Capital Markets Day earlier this week that Alan Wake 2 has surpassed 1.8 million copies sold worldwide since its release in October 2023.

Speaking on X, Remedy communications director, Thomas Puha, touched on the sale milestone, revealing that while Alan Wake 2 hasn’t turned a profit yet, the team are still happy with its performance.

That’s quite in line with what our business side estimated it would do. The budget was higher than what was initially planned (like most games), so we haven’t become profitable yet, and we aren’t happy with that. However, looking at the really tough market conditions, the competition, etc, we’ve done very well with the game and haven’t even really discounted it seriously yet.

Not to mention how well the game was critically received ( thank you!) We definitely feel Epic (who have been and are a great partner in every way) was the right choice, letting us make the game exactly as we wanted. Very doubtful this would have been possible with anybody else.
