2024 Syrian opposition offensives - The first Syrian rebel offensive against Government forces since March 2020

What other conclusion can be drawn? We don't know the terms but a deal seems most likely. Bloody decade-long civil war just up and ends as the winning side quietly surrenders to the losing side? And the Russian presence just vanishes peacefully?
I don't think Assad's ousting was a deal, that was just the SAA collapsing like a sack of shit, what I do think has happened is a deal to let the Russians pull their assets out without HTS drone bombing them 24/7.

I get Iran bros being pro Assad, but there was always that strange subspecies of ‘Assad = based, Iran/Russia = blood sucking parasites’ that made no sense to me. It’s not though they treated him like the better of two evils. They loved the fucker. It was strange cult of personality BS .

Unless you can provide at least two sources for this, fuck off with the strawmanning.

You seem rather angry. May I offer you a tissue in these trying times?

My feelings towards this are rather like my feelings towards Iraq. Nothing good was going to happen under Saddam and while the overthrow may bring about something much, MUCH worse it at least opens up the possibility of positive change. For the sake of of the civilians living there lets hope this is Vietnam rather then a Iraq type of situation where things do eventually get better.
Saddam was put there and supported by the CIA and US to serve as a hedge against Iran's regional power until they cut him loose and he decided he was going to get some attention by turning it into a petrodollar problem. Syria will not be Vietnam there are too many outside players and everyone there who hasn't run away to ruin nice places with refugee claims is willing to kill everyone else for whatever side makes sense to them.

Also boy, oh boy are the Iranians/Russians fucked. Supply routes for Lebanon closed, logistics base for African operations gone. The access of resistance didn't do much resisting did it?
Yup Putin and the Shah, Ayatolahs and Supreme Leaders might as well quit now and just surrender their countries to America, BlackRock and Israel. Some CIA backed mud people went on a big road trip to the town square in some technicals this thing is over for good just like every other Middle East conflict.

What other conclusion can be drawn?
That russia couldnt do jack shit to help, either due to being overstretched militarily, being too terrified of pissing off the turks, or both?

Ya know how absolute nadir-tier consoomers form freaky ass parasocial relationships with various celebrities they fixate on, and invent a complex web of drama between them and their secret "rival" celebrities, which is why you will see random middle aged women spamming their internet fanfiction about how fucking Martha Stewart is a lascivious whore trying to seduce Prince Harry away from the one true future queen of engerland Meghan Markle?

Well.....some autists do this to dictators too.

Sounds like the 'other participant' was Turkey IMO.
It was most definitely Iran. The Assad regime was propped up by Iranian supplied infantry and Russian air strikes. Hearing that both will not help him would have convinced Assad that it's over.

The Iranians kind of disappeared mysteriously after suffering losses early on. There's rumors that they too cut a deal with Joulani. "Fuck off and we'll not bother you on your way out."

Russian statement: We are utterly buttbroken and we beg for mercy.

#Syria: incredible scenes from the moment the prison cells were opened at the women's detention area of Sednaya prison.

The women are incredulous, asking questions in disbelief. Just go, just go, get your things and go, the man freeing them keeps repeating. He sees a toddler and exclaims “haram!” - meaning, this is a tragic evil. What a scene ya Allah
This is the side of "civilisation" according to turd worldists.

Thanks, I read the BBC highlight incorrectly. It still amazes me how Russia is still involved heavily with the UN Security council after the shit they’re doing lol

The most likely possibility is that the whole thing lasted 11 fucking days and even the Russians didn't expect Assad's regime to be this utterly corrupt, incompetent and dysfunctional.
In True and Honest Arab fashion, they sweep all their problems under the rug and present strength while hiding their issues from the allies that could help with them.

its worse than it looks. the syrian regime raped women in prison and would force them to give birth in the prison. The babies would then be raised in prison by their mothers. That toddler is likely a rape baby that never saw the outside of a prison cell before

Between this and Afghanistan I wonder how many other stable countries whose government seems secure but are actually susceptible to a blitz like this? More fun to think about, what first world country would be most likely to fall to something like this? Two common thread is majority support for the rebel faction outside of the main city, and the military buckling. A lot of the regime's troops either sympathize with the rebels, apathetic enough to not fight, or pragmatic enough to know they wouldn't win and the rebels aren't interested in killing the low rank grunts.

People think January 6th was close but that was never going to change Biden taking power; the process they interrupted was a formality. If those people truly were a threat security would've been ordered to start killing more and they already killed one.

The West lost Afghanistan which revealed it was a puppet government all along and the East lost Syria. I wouldn't be surprised if when the rebels fully take control the country becomes isolationist as it creates a new government. Maybe the new rebel-controlled Syria eventually starts helping Iran, Russia, and Hezbollah again but Hezbollah could be wiped out by then, Russia has to lick its wounds after they eventually win in Ukraine, the West could get involved and prevent it from forming again, or the rebels could simply decide not to.

Dont you worry man, Iran isn’t completely broke and Russia is absolutely coming back to own everyone. 40 years of foreign policy and $50 billion worth of syria iran debt didn’t just go poof over night.

(also 50 billion ... fuck me! Iran literally has trouble keeping the lights on right now)

I know but at least the royals have some old world glamour to em. Then again people somehow simp for kim jong un and say what you will Assad may as well have been GQ man of year compared to that guy.
