I'm sure to Elaine, who is unable to encounter anything online without trying to insert herself, that idea does seem crazy. How could a thread exist, and be happening, and people could not be posting in it? Those people must not exist! They have to be bots! It's the only explanation.

Sorry to break it to you Elaine, but most people don't have your specific psychological challenges. They can observe things without panicking and feeling like they're going to disappear if they don't speak up, and the ones who do post often feel zero compulsion to get involved beyond passively commenting.

More importantly though, Elaine's just not that interesting. This isn't a traditional lolcow thread subject like KingCobraJFS, and realistically it's mainly through her history of obsessive, clumsy attempts to insert herself into everything KF-adjacent that she's even garnered attention here.

Elaine is insane, and clearly assumes everyone else in the world is too.

What the fuck is 'a script to detect AI activity' meant to mean? Is she suggesting that registered users on the site are bots? Or that threads and posts are viewed by bots? If she means the latter, then that's true but that's not a secret whatsoever, you can see the bots that are active here, a massive portion of all internet traffic is bots. And these are just the ones that are detected!

If she means that actual registered users on the site are bots, then it implies that @Null has managed to create advanced LLM technology years in advance and successfully implemented it into the site to create fake users who write long posts and threads etc.
