Megathread Jesse Singal Derangement Syndrome - jsingal69 vs TroonWorld

I think your list was just showing blocks in the last 24 hours. Brianna Wu still holds the title for most blocked on Bluesky, although I imagine Jesse will be moving up the ranks over the next couple weeks.
Huh, you're right, I completely missed that.

Jesse Singal is maybe the fairest (to a fault?) journalist I know of in this accursed modern age. He actually, I believe, stands for trans rights in that he believes they shouldn't face housing or employment discrimination, and unless something has changed he believes there is a Legitimate Trans Experience. He doesn't say there's no such thing as a trans child (I don't agree but whatever), he's just saying "Take your time and figure it out." No one but them finds this controversial, unless they feel a child should never transition, which, yeah me too.

Despite what a few online wackadoos might lead them to believe, this is as steadfast a "cis" ally as you're likely to get. He is giving them the easiest possible to fix pain points in their ideology and they're refusing to address them. Instead they're going, I feel, really over the line in the slander department which is only going to serve to push the people who have actually read Singal's work even further away from them.

I am not particularly eager for the Trump presidency but it's these assholes fault and I hope it's as bad for them as they fear it will be.

I am so sorry for all that writing but I've been giving this a lot of thought lately.

Caraballo is going nuclear on Jesse:

"I remember when I posted about Jesse Singal's father getting arrested for soliciting a sex worker, he emailed me asking to delete with a sob story. I deleted it at the time but in hindsight, seeing how he posted intimate details about children's medical records, fuck him."

"Fundamental decency module" definitely sounds like Jesse, but I don't know why he would share that information, since he knew even back then that trannies are worse than America First when it comes to vindictiveness and backstabbing.

The latest episode is retarded. Insuranse companies aren't the only parasites in the system, so they don't deserve the public's malice? Peak contrarian. I did laugh when Katie said that her brother's medical care was so great and not financially burdensome because he shattered his body at the end of the year. Good thing it didn't happen in January, I guess!

Secret Gamer Girl wrote a lengthy thread about an ogre named "Messy Pringle":

This is deranged even when compared to other JSDS sufferers, which might explain why there has been no reaction to any of it even on a site filled with people who like to spread bullshit rumors about Jesse. The trannies who secretly browse Stinkditch have all seen Jake's photos and they know that not even the most pathetic, desperate chaser would be interested in that pile of shit, much less arrange to have a minion pose as a taxi driver to kidnap him. Just as a reminder for those of you who forgot, this is Secret Gamer Grrl:

Even if you do disagree with Jesse's totally reasonable takes on trans issues, the vitriol of JSDS is striking. The man is completely inoffensive and harmless and clearly willing to play nice with his ideological opponents even if he dislikes them and thinks they're dumb.

I don’t buy that Jesse wrote that. Why would he say “I swear to Christ”?

Ah well, nevertheless.
I mean honestly, I've rarely been wronger about anything in my life. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The collective meltdown on troon Bluesky is EPIC.

(On and on this goes, bored of screenshotting now.)

They are of course melting down in the only way they know how to: shitting everywhere and blaming everyone else. Imagine being surrounded by a mob of furries/trannies yelling "WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO DO WHAT WE TELL YOU, YOU SHITHEAD WEASEL? OBEY US YOU CUNT, WE ARE THE GOOD GUYS!"

It's just an expression. Like many American Jews he's effectively an atheist, and atheists say "Christ" and "God" for force rather than meaning all the time.

"Fundamental decency module" definitely sounds like Jesse, but I don't know why he would share that information, since he knew even back then that trannies are worse than America First when it comes to vindictiveness and backstabbing.
Jesse habitually engages with his haters too much for his own good. He's addicted to explaining himself and bad at logging off. From the outside it may seem that this behavior is limited to Twitter — triggered by the public square / social network features of Twitter — but it's not; he's always been big on emailing anyone with whom he has a bone to pick too.

Hate to link a Julia Serano post but the timeline a few paragraphs down is germane:
Jun 18, 2018 – Katherine Cross on Singal sending her an email “swearing a storm at me because I tweeted something he disliked that he felt was untrue.”

Jun 18, 2018 – Cat Fitzpatrick mentions Singal threatened to sue her for politely disagreeing with him.

Jan 15, 2019 – Singal levies legal threats against two writers who mention that they personally know trans women who’ve had bad interactions with him.

Jul 7, 2020 – the day the Harper’s Letter (which Singal was a signatory) was released, Singal instigated pile-ons of multiple people. I captured him initiating the pile-on of Jennifer Finney Boylan as it was occurring in this thread (both up & down from linked-to tweet). Emily VanDerWerff reacts to Singal’s pile-on of her here and, two days later, discusses the aftermath of that pile-on (which included “Death threats, rape threats, invitations to commit suicide, constant misgendering, etc”). Ari Drennen took screenshots of Singal targeting Aja Romano.

Because Singal’s attack on Emily VanDerWerff was premised on his false presumption that she was trying to get one of her employers fired (which she has denied), lots of other writers began coming forward with stories of Singal contacting their employers and editors because he disliked what they wrote. Here are some of those instances:

Jul 7, 2020 – Katelyn Burns on Singal “repeatedly emailing my employer until they fired me” is found here. A week later a co-worker corroborated that story.

Jul 7, 2020 – Noah Berlatsky shares: “also Jesse emailed me to demand I save DMs from Katelyn and others and investigate them for him, implying he would sue me otherwise.”

Jul 7, 2020 – Katerine Cross shares: “Back when I wrote for Feministing, he repeatedly badgered the editors trying to get a critical post that mentioned him briefly changed or taken down.”

Jul 9, 2020 – Harron Walker shares how Singal “emailed my editor many times after this was published seeking correction....on my ANALYSIS of his work”

Jul 19, 2020 – Abigail Nussbaum shares how “Jesse Singal has emailed me some endless screed demanding retractions on a post I wrote about him directing abuse towards Emily VanDerWerff.”

Dec 18, 2020 – Grace Lavery shares “Statement After Being Brutally Savaged by the Sharp Tongue of the Renegade Jesse Singal, 12/18/20.” Here is Lavery’s editor on the piece in question responding to Singal’s pestering.
Of course it's silly for Julia Serano to frame emails from a journalist as some kind of nefarious harassment. Jesse has every right to email editors asking for corrections on defamatory articles about him. The point is that he emails often and emphatically in hopes of defending his reputation even when the parties he's emailing are obviously not gonna give him an inch. I don't think he does this rationally, believing that the time he puts into these emails will pay off in corrections that materially improve his rep in the circles that dictate his career — he's just an expressive, emotional guy who hates to be misunderstood.

Hence the email to Caraballo: ill-advised, heart on sleeve, mortifying in its earnestness and not at all designed to elicit the response he asks for. (Good luck getting a mf to retract a tweet after insulting their lack of fundamental decency module.) There's nothing strategic about it, or "manipulative" as Caraballo spins it later in the thread. Just a guy spilling his guts to a hostile stranger because he cannot log off and needs deeply to say his piece, no matter how fruitless.

He's one of the few people I can think of who's as online as him and doesn't seem to have gotten very audience captured, he's just trying to report on things and everyone hates him for being a normal guy.
I agree, but I've read many of his articles and if he knew he was facing stiff winds on X he would absolutely know he would be facing a hurricane on Bluesky. What was he thinking?

Both of these platforms are where reasonableness goes to die.

Listen up Jesse, you're literally a Nazi, capiche?

Jesus I didn't think that Bluesky would be such a goldmine for this insanity, but we're back to Troons fantasizing about themselves being genocided with Jesse being Eichmann in this scenario. The bifurcation of old Twitter into the crazy right wing branch (Twitter now, I'm not calling it X) and into a crazy left wing branch (Bluesky) is going to lead to takes nobody could possibly imagine.

he's just an expressive, emotional guy who hates to be misunderstood.
It's one of the things I do like a lot and even respect about Jesse. But unfortunately it does hurt him more than help him sometimes. I hope that he can take all the troon seething right now for what it's worth (nothing but a laugh), but he's probably at least a little hurt by the hate storm.

There is nothing the Proggies love more the a good witch burning.

The talking heads have spoken, Jessie is a safe target so you can go ahead and be as vindictive, as spiteful, as hatefully, as openly violent as you want because he's a "bad guy".

The Proggies just eat that shit up, nothing brings them together like a good old fashioned 5 minute hate.

Damn, look at Popehat eagerly piling on. I haven't followed him at all since he since he ragequit Twitter; looks like he's become even more Woke and deranged.

His criticism is nonsensical, too. Both of Jesse's highlighted posts consist of the same screenshot, each time accompanied by a mild sarcastic remark.
How is that some kind "contrast", or a smoking gun for "bad faith" on Jesse's part?
It's like these people are grasping at straws to portray anything Singal says or does as sinister.

That's Char's Gelgoog.
My bad, it's been a while since I watched the original Mobile Suit Gundam.
I think it's an interesting anthropological note, though. Since troons and pooners groom each other through online fandoms, their perversions are going to manifest differently depending on the fandom.

Transformers is a fandom based on western cartoons and comics, while Japanese series have been made, they're not that popular with the main fandom. There's more direct tranny pandering, with an IDW comic trying to retcon Arcee as a trans Transformer (she was a male model with a "female spark", whatever that means).

The Transformers are sentient and the fandom largely disregards any human characters. Fandom being what it is, it means a good deal of time is spent coming up with different ways for robots to have sex. A Transformers fan is likely to be a xenophile or have a machine fetish.

Transformers is a strongly male-dominated fandom too, Starscream fangirls and that crazy lady who wanted to marry Optimus Prime notwithstanding. A Transformers tranny is likely to be to be in a polycule with other prison gay trannies, or have a collection of Bad Dragon dildos they claim as their polycule.

Gundam, on the other hand, is a long-running anime franchise with a lot of crossover with other mecha fandoms. There's not much tranny pandering, but there are plenty of anime pretty boys and waifus that attract
weeaboo trannies.

Gundams are not sentient, they are badass vehicles/weapons, so the crux of perversion is centered on the human characters. There is long running yaoi fandom for Gundam, so you're going to see a lot of examples of the fujo-to-pooner pipeline, and the new series Witch from Mercury had a lot of yuribait, so you'll see a lot of yuri fanboys that went down the pipeline. There's several male characters who crossdress too, so you're going to see a lot of guys going "Traps aren't gay" and theyfabs that argue about pronouns and genderfluidity.

Gundam has a mix of both male and female fans, although the model hobbyist part of the fandom is mostly male. In general, you're going to see pooners and enbies trying to be their own husbandos, and femboys posting pictures of themselves in cat ears and thigh highs.
