How the fuck is a big 3 title comparable to fotm twitterzoomerslop?
Big 3 means shit to me when 2 of them savagely shit themselves and yes, I read both Bleach and Naruto. Bleach peaked at soul society and spiralled off a cliff after that with arrancars being a rethread, fullbrings being asspull after asspull and quincies a pure mess (though this last one I'll cut Kubo some slack for his ailments). Naruto spiralled after the timeskip as well though had more peaks than bleach after.

Dandadan has some "lolrandom" energy but at least for now, it manages to keep the heat on and few arcs have generated the a similar amount of chapter to chapter hype as the space globalist arc
... yes, and? I know you are a retard that just read "NTR!" and thinks this is an own but it perfectly works in it's context and is a non issue. Momo and Okarun is one of the best main character pairings I've seen in shounen, period. Mind you the standards are abyssmal with shit like Ichigo end Orihime and their 0 chemistry being the standard level.

Do you guys have any post-2010 recommendations for shows with cool vehicle designs?
SRW The Inspector, Mazinkaiser SKL, the Last Exile sequel, Gyrozetter, Yamato 2199, Tenkai Knights, Gundam Narrative, Shinkalion, Drive Head, Earth Granner, and SEED Freedom are my recommendations. Search here for a full list: https://www.anime-planet.com/anime/tags/mecha?sort=year&order=desc&page=11
Except for some well-buried OVAs I'm pretty sure I've seen all the old stuff.
If well-buried OVAs is what you want, then check out these:
They're all Makoto Kobayashi things, so if you like Dragon's Heaven, you may like these. Also Last Exile, Super Atragon, Nadia, Tideline Blue, Submarine 707, Blue Submarine No 6, Blue Noah, Yamato, Salamander, Starship Operators, and Harlock for ship (air/water/space) things. For chonky military robots watch Dorvack, Gasaraki, Blue Gender, Argento Soma, Divergence Eve, Kiss Dum, FLAG, and AMAIM.

Thank you! The first list is kyrptonite for me, but the URLs, second, and third lists are full of promise, and I've only seen a few of them. How can I return the favour?

The only accurate thing is that this guy is a massive loser. He's a pretentious pseudo-intellectual who is high on the dunning-krueger effect that does a wacky voice with his "This is basically" series to say dumb shit takes that are devoid from reality. Like he called Oda a pedophile for how he draws women (even when he could've easily used him being besties with the author of Rurouni Kenshin).

Not to mention this is the same guy who insulted Jojo fans for wanting to look into the meaning of the stuff they like then cried about how he was just enjoying things differently when he got pushback, called the existence of young female characters "fanservice" even if there is nothing sexual about them, and also how he got fired from writing anime scripts after flaunting about how he fixed some show from Backwater Japan, because Jello is the almighty smartest man in the world while everyone else is an idiot.

Sorry if I sound MATI, but I genuinely hate this guy and hope he loses his career.

Do you have any weird airship/watership/spaceship anime recs?
I don't think I could name any that you haven't already heard of - the kind where the ship is the home, and the characters travel through some thick and thin, together in their home. (Bebop, Macross, Gurren Lagann, Coyote Ragtime, Outlaw Star etc.) It's niche enough that they can all be counted on fingers and toes.

But Magnetic Rose from the Memories anthology is a short that takes place in that kind of ship - if it were abandoned.

And there's quite a bit of Western live-action that scratches that itch. The Firefly series. The Expanse, Das Boot, Master and Commander. And the Homeworld games.

It's more frustrating that One Piece has been utter trash for a long time now but this idiot has to come in and muddy the waters with his idiotic opinions. Just as bad as someone liking something for the wrong reasons is them hating something for the wrong reasons.

You could've just mentioned his vdeo from 2016 when he urged everyone to be human and vote Hillary except totally coy just go out and vote tee hee

I can't seem to get into any new mecha. The 3d cgi of the mechs stand out too much in the 2d backgrounds and characters in my eyes. Anyone else?

Shangrila Frontier is great but it's not purely mecha. Season 2 has more mecha elements and it's still as great as S1.

The issue with new mecha is that the stories are never good, not the CGI. I actually like CGI mecha because I have a much easier time imagining them as realistic machines, though 2D mecha is also neat because I get more imaginative freedom.

arrancars being a rethread
Part of it, yeah, but there's a lot to it which is unique. Imho, especially if you consider FKT to be part of the arrancar arc, it has higher highs and lower lows than the SS arc.
shit like Ichigo end Orihime and their 0 chemistry being the standard level.
Read the manga and pay attention, they do have chemistry throughout the arcs.

If the mecha aren't front and center like in Gundam, Macross, daibuster, Mazinger, Gaogaigar or Gurren Lagann y don't consider it mecha as such.

That's fair, plus the Mecha in Eureka 7 only really serve as lore for the rest of the universe. The Nirvash is special because it is the first Mech that was discovered and because it serves as a synthetic machine/alien hybrid thing that accompanies Eureka. The only other thing it does, is that it is the first mecha discovered and the basis at which all the others are based off of.

Do people actually unironically like Devilman Crybaby? I finally got around to watching it, and I'm stunned by how bad it is. They took something cool and then because Netflix was involved made it gay (literally) and full of retarded shit. Like why does one of the characters give us a long-ass lecture about police brutality and racial profiling? Or how it gives the most half-assed "people are the real demons!" rant delivered in melodramtic text flashing across the screen while being unable to decide if demons are good or bad. That would be like if the old Getter Robo OVAs spent half the time on some random scientists at the Getter Lab and often paused so the Getter Team could deliver heartfelt messages about environmentalism and how dinosaurs only hate us because of pollution or some shit. Like why even try to have such a deep, melodramtic delivery of a message in a show whose goal is seemingly to be the most brutal thing in all existence with endless gore, drugs, rape, and little kids jerking off to porn? Show can't even keep a consistent tone!

And the show full of pointless subplots like the annoying ass rapper niggers. Why are they wasting so much time when the last 3 episodes felt like I was having a seizure with how much it jumps between shit and forgets about shit like the gay faggot runner? Why do we barely get anything about Akira and Ryou compared to them? The animation is horrible too, it picks a cool style and has some awesome and gruesome kills and rapes but there's so much off-model shit.

Are the other Devilman adaptions better than this trash? The only thing I'll credit this for is how ballsy it was with killing people and showing all the awesome blood and gore and murder I love from 80s OVAs.

It's not just you. Directors still flub this a lot, similar to how they can never get live-action and 2d to look seamless. I find it's at its best when a more restrictive color palette is used, plus very soft or very harsh lighting, and when they restrict the frame-rate a bit so that the 3d isn't smoother than the 2d.

For example, here's a still from 86:

The 'bots in the foreground are models but look like they could be painted in because they share the purples. Same with the bots in the background - they get a wash of faded purple light. But in the mid-ground, the soft lighting is broken by harsh whites - and so even from a stillshot, you can tell it's a 3d asset.

00 I do remember more. I was invested in it's "I have the biggest gun therefore I will force everyone to play nice" phylosophy, though it fell into some very idealized jank as well as a similar to Lelouch thing of focusing the worlds hatred on them which always seems like a shortsighted copout to "peace". The memes were also gold, Marina Ishmail getting cucked by a fucking Gundam will never stop being funny. Setsuna really was the most autist pilot, even beyond Kamil.
I recall 00 being compared to Wing back then, even Full Metal Panic since Ali Al-Sacheez is similar to Gauron and Setsuna similar to Sousuke, except Sousuke is a Japanese raised in Afghanistan while Setsuna is Middle Eastern with a Japanese name. Did social media ever make a big deal of Setsuna being brown, Middle Eastern and atheist?
