That "travel mug" was actually a holographic projector that Emily used to overlay an image onto her computer screen to trace her drawings. It doesn't show up in video recordings because it's ultraviolet infrared light in an invisible spectrum using a faraday cage and prismatic illusions. She has lots of gadgets like these that she uses to make fake proof videos. She also uses an X-ray machine to make her skin seethroughable.
