The Streamer awards happened. Pirate Software won the award for "League of their own", speech was pretty short and standard and his voice sounded like it does on stream. Nothing clip worthy. I didn't recognize any of the other nominees. He also was nominated for the Streamer of the Year but lost to notorious hooligan IShowSpeed
I think we should take this moment to thank whatever divine power you may or may not believe in that Mald will never have a dick slip that will propel him to further mainstream popularity.

1. People were dogging Jason because his in-built text-effect formatting looked messy. Instead of BB-code brackets, he has symbols representing effects (which looks messy).
2. Texts printed to dialogue boxes aren't stored per object but rather big scripts. A low-effort solution so his localization friends can easily modify separate scripts.
3. The intro map and the post-intro map are different. Different maps call for different big dialogue scripts.

During his stream, he wanted to show off how brilliant his low-effort script-based localization-friendly text effect generator was when he mixed up both maps and changed the post-intro map's bed description instead of the intro-bed's description.

His systems are tacky, low-effort, and sloppy for a project of this size alongside the credentials he purports to have.

If anyone wants to gawk at an interesting development stream to compare, contrast, or watch in the background, I'd recommend this. He's Jason's exact opposite.

Why is he trying to come up with new quirky designs where there are already established patterns that do the job well?
It's even more funny, because they were developed by experienced dev community, while his retarded goofy coding monkey ass is in no place to come up with new solutions.

Do you remember when he was all smug about having some kind of image as an input for some kind of algorithm to get password to his account? What a fucking retard, just use password manager or passkeys, or whatever.

I feel like everything worth saying has been said already, but I need to make sure I stress just how little effort is required to load a json file with game maker studio. Even making a whole ass custom table format with an editor to boot that resolves foreign keys is like a day's work at most. I wonder if localizers are also required to boot up the whole game and get to the relevant scene just to test it as well.

That's because he does not know they exist.
He is smug fag who thinks not reinventing the wheel means importing library, instead of learning how wheel function and then carving it yourself when needed.
A common occurrence in programming community.

Edit:
Also, Lua coroutines are objectively the best way to handle dialogues. :cunningpepe:

My favourite part of this is the description for the award:
This streamer is a pioneer that creates one-of-a-kind content. They fill a niche or a category that is otherwise not represented, because they are simply in a league of their own. This award goes to a creator who has become known for doing something that no one else has.
I'm pretty sure there are plenty of other streamers who play way too much WoW instead of doing what they should be and/or smugly explain shit that they don't actually know anything about.

Now watch him stream Heartbound just because he saw that post... And then proceed to do zero actual coding, bugfixing, or adding new things into the game while keeping it running in the background as he drones on about some other life story, brags about his credentials once again, or just shows how UNIQUE and COOL some other part of the game is from a programming standpoint.
I'm just saying...

I assume because most people like building stuff themselves and then he would know it completely.

But mald has 20 years experience and should not run in to issues and he does not seem to be doing the stuff he claimed so…

BECAUSE HE IS RETARDED.

Terry Davis would have hated this guy if he was still around he used to work for glowy agencies he can't even write his own compiler his code looks like spaghetti and he's a degenerate who probably hates God.

Look I know not that much about programming but this guy it's a ******** artist through and through

Pretty sure he knows about these things; the problem is, he's too much of an artist or theatre kid and needs to be the auteur. It doesn't matter if his quirky way offers no benefit or may even hamstring him and his efforts; he's gonna do things the Jason way and needs to showcase the Jason brand. About 90% of the CS/IT field is stealing shit from other people and making it your own; but not Jason, if Blizzard is gonna have an AUP for everyone they hire, Jason will spend two weeks making sure the margins, spacing, and word use is exactly how he demands it; and will even put the revision history and who was by in the footer.

I find it weird he's even allowed to be a nominee since he works for Offbrand, which is the company that runs the event. Same with Ludwig too.

Jason for some reason
Edit: I looked into this and offbrand games doesn't actually run the show, this is actually the first streamer awards that they have collaborated with offbrand games.

That being said, it certainly isn't a coincidence that after likely paying for and "helping" produce the stream this year that he won the "most special boy and we're all very proud of him" award.

Watch Ludwig's video about the company. The entire thing is just a nepotism hive so people can leap frog in the industry without doing any real work. It's all about giving people handouts.
