Two 8-month-old pit bulls that were loose in Nanaimo attacked several children, severely injuring at least one. Other people that came to aid the children were also injured.

The children were playing in a yard at the house of one of their friends. The dogs were from somewhere else in the neighborhood and had been cited for being at large previously.

One of the owners of the dogs came and got the dogs but did not stick around. The news interviewed the other owner, a Dangerhair that looked to be in her late 40s or early 50s. While she was devastated at what her dogs had done, she said to the reporter, "People are saying, look at this from the prospective of a parent, well, these dogs are my kids, too," and then she broke down crying.

It was later reported both dogs were euthanized, as there have been other incidents prior to this one, and due to the severity of the injuries the one particular child sustained.

To the dangerhair dog owner I would have to say, "If these dogs were your KIDS, you did a lousy job of raising them. Thank heavens you didn't spawn any of your own."

Exact opposite energy to when you get those gatherings of retrievers or sausage dogs etc. Fear for your actual life (and any children in the vicinity) if all of those pitbulls get loose, whereas if all the retrievers get loose you only have to fear being smothered by love and all the treats being devoured.
The vibe at an AKC all breed show is similar. Even though people have police trained GSDs and Mals there, plus other big big dogs like Danes and Saints and Pyrs, and even though Staffies are allowed to compete, if all the leashes and harnesses suddenly disappeared, I think the worst that would happen is all the dogs would just jump off their portable grooming tables and out of the ring wander the hotel lobby and corridors, marking the houseplants. A silver lining (and a great example of selection bias!) about dog-show dogs is that tolerating the show process is just as important as whatever the criteria in the breed book are.
This is again why how much of a poor "argument" the "it's how they're raised" belief is.

The worst you can expect from an untrained golden retriever (as far as "violence" goes) is that it will jump up on you when excited and maybe scratch your arms, legs, clothes, etc. It might "bite" you while playing and cause a welt to come up that will fade within a day. Meanwhile, an untrained pit will maim and/or kill you.

Then one must consider how you should not have to train a domestic dog to not maul everything in sight.
Goldens can be BYB and develop poor temperaments and training problems from poor husbandry. Pit bulls are unique(ish) in that they have poor temperaments and dog on dog aggression as a breed feature, and even by the book breeders and owners who do everything right have to be aware of the potential for the dog to become aggressive.

The pit bulls lunging and snarling at each other at this bullshit pit bull breed show is all but an advertisement for dogmen... pick mine, it's the leanest and meanest! When promoting the dogs for sale on TikTok the violent subtext is brought into the content of the video by saying this dog's "a ganster ass n****a!" while P diddy plays with free shotgun sound effects and the literal text on the video screen extols the dog's value as a "guard dog". Owning a fancy pit bull is part of this upper-class ghetto aesthetic where you drive around a white SUV and drip gold chains everywhere on your body. It's cultural, but I don't like it, and the dogs owned by these image-motivated black people are usually in poor condition. the toenails are always the tell. A dog that is not walked enough develops overgrown, long toenails. The owner then doesn't know how to trim them / don't care to trim them and the dogs develop these longass hawk-talon nails.

If toadline breeders are any indicator, then the dogmen are probably also well versed in artificial insemination (AI) and sperm cryotherapy techniques. Time for some not so great news: these murder mutts will breed even more prodigiously, unbounded of concerns with time and space, thanks to AI! Not to mention the pit bulls themselves are incredibly fit in the Darwinian sense, and will outcompete other dogs in the stray dog population if they aren't sterilized, which they often aren't.

So basically, what you're telling us is that I need to get busier with hunting them down? And other Anons need to as well?

A man was "not bothered" as his XL bully attacked a 12-year-old girl, a court has been told.
Justin Allison, 37, from Ebbw Vale, pleaded guilty to charges of owning a banned breed, being in charge of a dog that was dangerously out of control and possessing a knife.
Newport Magistrates' Court heard the dog attacked the girl as she got out of a car in Nantyglo, Blaenau Gwent, in October - with the animal running towards her "very fast" and "reaching her in seconds".
Prosecutor Lisa Lewis said the dog was " growling" and the girl was "very scared".
The court heard how the dog jumped on the girl's back and then "latched onto her arm" as she tried to cover her head, with the girl's father eventually wrestling with the dog.
Ms Lewis said the girl recalled how the owner appeared but "didn't come close and wouldn't do anything" and was "not bothered" about helping her father.
The girl was eventually taken to hospital and underwent surgery on her arm.
Magistrates were shown images of the "horrific injury" with the bone, tendons and nerves of the child's arm visible under a flap of skin.
The court also heard Mr Allison had no licence for the XL bully dog, which was destroyed following the incident.
The case was adjourned for sentencing at Newport Crown Court in January.

There is no more oddly satisfying an exercise of one's 2A as shooting a shitbull, ngl. Watching those dogs get stopped by a bullet is nice to see after too many vids of them ignoring every other kind of force, ignoring pepper spray, ignoring people stabbing them repeatedly, tearing apart cars to get at cats & wildlife hiding inside the frame, etc. It's like watching a pavement roller get rolled out by an even bigger pavement roller.

You saw that vid of a horse kicking that shitbull and it still came back for more until, what I think, its owner was able to slam that fucker down and yelled at it to 'STAY' before waving off the people with the horse?

I have pure respect for horses. They know they are big and strong but they don't go around stomping the shit out of everyone for no reason

I've seen videos of buffalo and bull mooses BTFOing pitbulls on the attack and it's ridiculous, like Don Quixote tilting at windmills.

Two people have been bailed after an eight-month-old baby was seriously injured by a dog in Kent.
Police were called to Siskin Close in Hawkinge, near Folkestone, at about 14:25 GMT on Wednesday following a report that an infant had been bitten by a dog, reportedly an XL bully.
The baby girl was airlifted to a London hospital where she remains in a serious condition, police said.
A 76-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control.
Both have been bailed while inquiries continue, police said.
The dog was seized and destroyed at the family home.

One family member told the BBC the dog, named Hunter, had never shown any form of aggression and that the attack was out of character.
"For the dog to do what he did, for me, was totally out of the blue," he said.
Another family member said the baby and the dog were "like two peas in a pod".
She added that the mother of the injured baby was "devastated".
"It is shocking. You see and hear about it all the time, but you don't actually think it is going to happen to your own family," she said.
In November 2023, police seized an XL bully from Siskin Close following a report that its owner had been bitten on the finger, which caused a minor injury, the force previously revealed.
A police spokesperson said: "The owner was asked to voluntarily surrender the dog to officers for destruction, but declined to do so.
"There were no legal grounds for officers to retain the dog in the circumstances, but the owner was asked to agree to accept the conditions of a police order, which included keeping the dog secure and supervised."

Also you see how the family member says it has never shown any form of aggression and the attack was totally out of character? Guess what other news outlets are reporting:
Now, it has been revealed that Kent Police seized the same XL Bully in Hawkinge in November 2023 following a report that its owner had been bitten on the finger, causing a minor injury.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: 'The owner was asked to voluntarily surrender the dog to officers for destruction, but declined to do so.
I for one am shocked, shocked, at this news.

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A Mira Mesa man died after he was mauled by his three dogs at a neighborhood park Friday afternoon, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The attack happened at a children’s playground in Mesa Viking Neighborhood Park. Police said the dogs, identified as XL bullies — a breed known for their size and strength — attacked their owner, leading officers to use a Taser to stop the attack.

Witness Steve Marto, who lives across the street from the park, said he initially thought police were trying to detain a person when he saw officers setting up a perimeter.

“I just saw they had something trapped in the weeds over here. I thought it was a person at first because they were talking about setting up a perimeter,” Marto said.
He later realized officers were attempting to round up the three large dogs.
“They were big, like XL bullies, just massive muscle,” Marto said.

Police said witnesses called 911 around noon to report the attack. Responding officers arrived to find the man being bitten repeatedly by the dogs. A child with the victim was unharmed.

Good Samaritans tried to intervene by hitting the dogs with shovels and possibly a golf club, which was found at the scene, along with torn clothing and a shoe. An officer used a Taser to break up the attack, and the dogs ran off
.

“The officer was able to break up the dogs. They fled, and the injured male was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries,” Sgt. Matthew Hone said.

The sister of the victim confirmed to FOX 5/KUSI he later died at the hospital.
Two of the dogs were quickly captured, but a third remained on the loose, prompting a lockdown at nearby Ericson Elementary School.
Parents of students at the school were notified by email.

Police later found the third dog at the owner’s home, which is near the park.
Neighbor Stewart Marto expressed concern about owning such powerful animals.

“I don’t understand why someone would want to have three dogs that size. You’re just looking for a problem, in my opinion,” he said.

Authorities have not yet determined what will happen to the dogs.

Edit: I did mean to quote the earlier DBD post, but forgot to add the quote in like a retard, forgive me, I am tired today.
They also recently changed one of the shirts you can get for a character (i don't play DBD, I just saw this online) from a savage looking pitbull to a 'cuter' one due to pushback about breed shaming or something. All very dumb.
