She was briefly on medication for depression, but decided to quit in favor of whatever she's abusing at the moment.

The problem is that people with her kind of issues tend to need long, intensive therapy, but it's very difficult as it requires the patient to be able to work through the difficult parts of their life and put in very hard work to fix it.

I think Zoey is 100% borderline, especially with her months-long obsession with her ex. Borderlines are very prone to doing anything to provoke a reaction from an idealized person who triggers their abandonment issues, even if it's chasing for a negative reaction, because they still care a lot about what this person thinks and they will let it define them. BPD is very treatable, but only when the person is actually willing to sit down and work through their problems.
