Ultrakill is tainted for me now but I honestly had a bit of fun playing the quarter of it I played.
Hypnospace Outlaw is very good if you ignore the random fags, the communist website and the pathetic redemption ending.
I can't stand Cruelty Squad personally but Civvie 11 and Max0r both had fun with it (they probably didn't know about the author)

Alright I'm getting sick of this status quo regarding terribly made tranny tier false Y2K "games" just because no one ever pointed out how poor they were when they released; so Hypnospace Outlaw is not good there is a steam review from an older person that blows the game's timeline out of the water since it is misusing internet aesthetics, the devs didn't do their homework at all and the real old net was far more advanced during the time it is meant to take place than the devs made it. The timelines mismatch, the game was made via someone misremembering what the internet was like then versus what it was really like to paint a mediocre alternate reality game with it. You play as a janny, and in the game a lot of the developers bias is present, the world is mind numbingly boring, its all farcical and arguably is not a video game AT ALL. It is literally just a virtual tour on a faggy ARG and nothing much more, if you enjoy the reddit humor I guess there's that. Utterly one of the older waves of pozzed, safe dogshit. FUCKING YIIK mostly understands Y2K better than Hypnospace Outlaw.
Post processing in modern vidya is still absurd btw. If anything its gotten worse with blurry AIDS like TAA.

I didn't say it's accurate, just thought it was alright and I didn't mind the virtual tour or whatever since that's what the game tells you it's about right from the steam description. Eh.
I'm also "an older person" btw, It's an okayish cartoony simulation of the very early 90s and not 1999.
I'm not really aware of any other examples of accurate 90s computing respresentation sadly, unless you count the attempt Superhot does.

I've actually played that. A friend that I absolutely did not expect to be so interested in it pressured me into buying it upon threat of buying it for me if I didn't.
Aside from the fact that it's optimized like utter horseshit and buggier than the flies on said horseshit, arguably fun little waste of time. Bix nood, nigga.

I have always hated him for his dogshit Silent Hill videos. Back then I was more naive and retarded, watched some vids anyway. Now I am a lot more confident in the amount of video game ideas that I can come up with compared to these complacent retards who jack off Silent Hill 2 to the point in which they go blind to what made it stand out for a sequel and only see the way it has affected gaming which has honestly been for the worse as the wrong ideas were taken from its cult following to the point where western devs only wanted to redo the idea of 2.
Even if it's something as immaculate as Deus Ex you should never EVER worship a singular video game and ask for it to be a template going forward, it will inevitably result in stagnation.
Just look at the game industry now. Even though there are limitless games they all copy each other and thus lose soul in the process. This has been true for Indie gaming as much as it has for AAA simply because the masses just want a functioning, familiar video game instead of something truly new or unique (God Hand). I hope a crash happens so it shakes up every game developer and makes it to where they can start going nuts again. Total troonslop death.

Troons don't understand that old games were good cause they had less people working on them, had smaller budgets and took less time. They're very refined and focused because of that, if they failed it wasn't a big casualty cause god hand did fail after all, Mikami knew it was going to fail but did it cause he wanted to (watch archipels documentary on mikami). The problem with troonslop is that all of it is bloat, there are too many people working on it who're less competent, there's too much money being spent on those people and they take way more time cause they're complacent. But they're humanists so even if a retards a retard, said retard deserves participation rights and a salary and shit. That's the entire problem with the SBI issue, external entities like SBI are parasitic and noncontributive, what they touch turns into shit and they behave like gang bosses negotiating corruption deals if they're threatened. There are tranny indie games which have soul, which look like they took effort but they're still inefficient and are extremely inauthentic.

It is amazing how we are 20 years past the GTA trilogy games and no one, not a SINGLE tranny/game dev, have opted to use motion capture in their games for cutscenes. Sure you can always "keyframe", but I would think in current year when you could get a green spreen, some ping pong balls, and a greensuit you'd be able to make for some nice fluid, humanoid movement for your game. Yet I have never heard of a single indie game in the 2010s-2020s that uses this.

I never knew, I watched this guy, sean Seanson and cvit quite a bit for their retro game coverage. I always thought he was like a 30 year old fat basement neckbeard, not a tranny and looking at him he's definitely an autist but did put effort into defying the stereotype and becoming thin.
