While your first sentence is true, it doesn’t lead to your second sentence. Ballistics isn’t an exact science. There is some question into its reliability. I don’t have a strong opinion one way or the other, but I am always skeptical of how advanced forensics is supposedly because there is an incentive by governments to make people afraid of being caught by forensics. I am a junkie for unsolved murders and it happens way too often for me to believe that stuff like ballistics and surveillance is as reliable as certain experts claim.

I absolutely would accept being wrong if we get to trial and there is clear evidence and testimony that shows the gun is THE gun and the defense can’t do a good job to cast doubt on it. Sorry I don’t immediately lap up a police report at face value.
Unlawful possession of a suppressor is a ten year sentence.
If he doesn’t have a nfa tax transfer stamp, or a SOT, he can be fucked on that alone. Regardless of your prison lawyer fantasies. Would this happen in practice? No. But hormones have been maxxed out on nfa charges before without any lieniency or discretion.
